Civil Construction Manager
(Full-time, 40 hours per week)
As a Senior Civil Construction Manager, you will be part of the Engineering team within our Operations organization. You will play a key role in the execution of our strategic investment projects, being responsible for all civil and construction-related activities from early concept development through detailed design, construction, commissioning support, and final handover to operations.
You will ensure that all building and infrastructure works are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and in full compliance with Nestlé Engineering Standards, local regulations, and global best practices. With a strong focus on Safety by Design, Hygienic Design principles, and quality execution, you will contribute to building state-of-the-art manufacturing facilities that support operational excellence and future growth.

As Civil Construction Manager , your responsibilities include:
- Leading all civil and construction engineering activities from concept development to final handover.
- Managing technical project scopes, schedules, budgets, and construction risks.
- Coordinating with internal stakeholders including Operations, Quality, Safety, Procurement, Finance, and Maintenance.
- Managing external engineering consultants, construction contractors, and suppliers.
- Ensuring compliance with Nestlé Engineering Standards, local legislation, building codes, and environmental requirements.
- Managing permitting activities and coordinating with local authorities, regulatory bodies, and external consultants to ensure timely approvals and full compliance throughout the project lifecycle.
- Driving the implementation of Safety by Design principles throughout all project phases.
- Ensuring application of Hygienic Design requirements in coordination with process and production teams.
- Supporting building layouts, infrastructure design, utility interfaces, and construction methodologies.
- Overseeing construction execution, site activities, contractor performance, and commissioning support.
- Ensuring quality control and adherence to project specifications and construction standards.
- Identifying project risks and developing mitigation plans to ensure successful delivery.
- Driving continuous improvement and value engineering initiatives while maintaining safety, quality, and operational requirements.
What we expect from a Senior Project Engineer:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Minimum 8 years of experience in civil and construction project engineering within industrial or manufacturing environments.
- Proven experience managing capital projects from design through construction and implementation.
- Strong knowledge of building systems, industrial construction methods, and infrastructure works.
- Experience with contractor management, construction supervision, and site coordination.
- Proven experience with local building regulations, permitting processes, and construction standards.
- Familiarity with Nestlé Management & Leadership Principles, Nestlé Corporate Business Principles, and Group organization is an advantage.
- Experience with Nestlé SHE standards and safety management practices is highly desirable.
- Strong understanding of Safety by Design principles and risk management methodologies.
- Proven experience with Hygienic Design requirements and their application within food or pharmaceutical facilities is a strong advantage.
- Experience with cleanroom environments and contamination control requirements is considered a plus.
- Strong analytical, structured, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and take full ownership of project scopes.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills with fluency in English and Dutch.
