We are looking for:

Project Utilities Engineer
 (Full-time, 39 hours per week)

 

As a Project Utilities Engineer, you will be part of the Engineering team within our Operations organization and report to the Utilities Project Manager. You will play a key role in the technical execution of utility and infrastructure systems for a large-scale strategic project involving new production lines and future site capacity.

 

From early concept and basic design through installation, commissioning, and handover to operations, you will act as the technical owner for assigned utility systems, ensuring safe, compliant, and efficient delivery in line with Nestlé Engineering standards, SHE requirements, and local legislation.

You will work closely with process engineers, operations, maintenance, and external engineering partners to ensure that utility systems are properly designed, integrated, installed, and ready to support reliable production start-up.

 

This role offers a hands-on opportunity to drive technical excellence in a complex project environment while contributing to long-term site reliability and sustainability.

 

As Project Utilities Engineer , your responsibilities include:

  • Acting as technical owner for assigned factory utility systems from design to final handover
  • Supporting the Project Utilities Lead in the execution of utility project scopes, schedules, and budgets
  • Developing utility concepts and technical specifications (HVAC, steam, compressed air, water systems, CIP, wastewater, etc.)
  • Coordinating technical interfaces between utilities, production lines, and site infrastructure
  • Managing day-to-day technical coordination with external engineering firms, contractors, and equipment suppliers
  • Ensuring compliance with Nestlé Engineering standards, SHE requirements, and local regulations
  • Supporting layout development and integration of utilities within the overall factory design
  • Overseeing installation, commissioning, qualification, and start-up activities for utility systems
  • Identifying technical risks related to utilities and proposing mitigation measures
  • Supporting energy efficiency, sustainability, and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Ensuring smooth technical handover of utility systems to Operations and Maintenance teams

 

What we expect from a Project Utilities Engineer:

 

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical or energy systems engineering)
  • Minimum 3–6 years of experience in utility or infrastructure engineering within industrial or manufacturing environments
  • Knowledge of industrial utility systems (HVAC, steam, compressed air, water treatment, wastewater, CIP)
  • Experience with capital projects from design through commissioning and start-up
  • Familiarity with hygienic design principles and GMP requirements
  • Experience with Nestlé Engineering and SHE standards is a strong advantage
  • Understanding of budget tracking and cost control principles (in support of project management)
  • Familiarity with SAP and project management tools is a plus
  • Strong analytical, structured, and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication skills and fluency in English
  • Familiarity with SAP and project management tools is a plus
  • Strong analytical, structured, and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication skills and fluency in English
  • Experience in food, pharma, or FMCG industry is an advantage

  • A full-time position (39 hours per week)
  • Salary starting from €4211,- gross per month based on a full-time contract. Depending on experience, skills and qualifications.
