Category Development Manager Nutrition NL, this is your challenge
We are looking for a Category Development Manager in Nutrition NL, reporting directly to Aline Petteau (CDT Lead) for the Netherlands retail market .

In the challenging and competitive market environment of the Benelux Nutrition category, we will be working on a lot of projects to leverage new growth opportunities for the business.
As a Category Development Manager, you will lead the category development agenda to deliver long-term, profitable category growth and increase market shares. You will be part of the Benelux Nutrition team and will report directly to the CDT Lead, partnering closely with Sales, Marketing, Finance and Supply to translate insights into winning commercial plans. The role is based in our office in Amstelveen and you will be responsible for the Netherlands (NL) market. You are going to manage Albert Heijn, Jumbo, Drug incl. Kruidvat and Etos, Dirk, PLUS and Ecom.
Your responsibilities:
- Own and drive the yearly strategic category plan and recommend tailored channel/customer category plans in line with overall market strategy;
- Establish clear promotional plans based on market knowledge and business strategy, and continuously evaluate the effectiveness of our trade investments and recommend optimizations;
- Co-lead in-store activation and execution excellence (POSM, visibility, shelf) with Marketing and Sales; ensure aligned execution of our brand strategy on the shopfloor and drive implementation;
- Ensure strategies and plans are implemented at customer level to deliver category growth, grounded in consumer, shopper and customer insights;
- Develop winning commercial propositions and provide category thought leadership to support customer plans and field sales execution;
- Turn shopper and market insights into actionable in-store solutions (including planograms/shelf vision where relevant) and influence customer decisions;
- Monitor business performance using internal and external data; drive recommendations, align stakeholders, and lead corrective action plans to deliver growth and profitability.
What we are looking for in our Category Development Manager Nutrition
- Minimum 4-6 years of experience in commercial disciplines (Category Management/Development, Sales or Trade Marketing) within FMCG;
- You have a validated commercial and category management experience where you have demonstrated commercial acumen & excel in customer management. You have a record of success in a customer facing role;
- Strong stakeholder management skills; able to influence cross-functional teams and lead complex projects end-to-end;
- Comfortable with complexity and prioritization in a fast-paced environment;
- A strong personal drive with a positive, pragmatic get-things-done attitude;
- Collaborative mindset to work effectively with Sales, Marketing, Finance and Supply, and to bring others on board;
- Enjoy turning numbers into stories and action plans;
- Analytical and decisive; able to translate insights into clear recommendations and action plans;
- Flexibility to travel to Brussels & be on the field with customers;
- Languages needed : Dutch & English.
The job offers more than just a challenge:
- A full‑time position (39 hours) with excellent benefits: a 13th month, 25 vacation days, and 6 additional leave days.
- A salary range between €5000 and €6000 gross per month depending on your knowledge and experience.
