Laboratory Manager

Minimum Educational Qualification: University Graduate or equivalent (preferred Biochemistry, Microbiology, Chemistry, Biotechnology, Food Sciences or related discipline).

Minimum Work Experience: Minimum 2 to 3 years’ experience in a laboratory management role or similar.

Position Summary

Nestlé Cote D’Ivoire is looking for a Laboratory Manager who will ensure the proficiency and optimal functioning of the laboratories to provide the best analytical competence that ensures the effective and efficient quality assurance of products before they are released to the consumer.

Your responsibilities

• Responsible for the correct operations of the laboratory, including personnel safety, availability of equipment to carry out analysis (internal and external quality control).
• The proper implementation and regular update of the laboratory quality system in accordance with the Good Laboratory Practices Guidelines.
• Using Proficiency tests as one of the main tools to ensure the proficiency of the Laboratory.
• Responsible for the adequate follow-up and root cause analysis & corrective actions in case of poor results.
• The management (both physically and SAP) of green coffee, packaging materials and soluble coffee produced at factory.
• Define priorities and ensure timeliness of articles use decisions in SAP (FERT, HALB, ZPCK, ZRWK).
• Assure skills and knowledge across the factory labs regarding Nestlé standards (GU, ST, LI, etc.) by Staff Qualification.
• Ensure the update of factory QMS (ROH, ZPCK, HALB and FERT) Vs the model.

What makes you successful?

• University graduate or equivalent (preferred Biochemistry, Microbiology, Chemistry, Biotechnology, or Food Science related discipline).
• Minimum 2 to 3 years’ experience in a laboratory management role.
• Demonstrated capability to lead a group of experienced professionals.
• Management exposure in a factory / market.
• Demonstrated analytical background or laboratory exposure.
• QA Specialist in a laboratory, PTC or R&D Centre, NRC, CO-QM.
• Different laboratory positions, environments (PTC, R&D, NRC, Mission, Special Projects.
• Preference of FMCG Experience.
• Excellent proficiency in English & French.
