Position Summary
Just 65 miles from Center City Philadelphia, Allentown is near many major Northeastern U.S. cities, which makes it an ideal location for manufacturing and distributing consumer goods. We utilize thermal processing and high-speed canning to produce varieties of our Friskies®, Beneful® and Pro Plan® brands—product lines we have carefully produced, packaged, and shipped since 1958. As a Associate Manager Safety, you will assist the Safety and Health Manager with the implementation of policies and programs necessary to fully comply with Nestle Purina Pet Care Safety Programs and objectives. You will provide training and ensure proper communication at all levels of the plant to achieve full preparation in the Safety and Health programs and compliance with Federal, State, and Local Government regulations. You will act as a resource to all departments in the plant to provide safety and loss control support.
- Develop Safety awareness programs, motivational and communication programs, which promote safety and assist in reducing accident and injury rate objectives.
- Responsible for the administration of workers’ compensation program, to minimize claims cost, reduce lost time and direct return to work program.
- Coordinate investigations of injuries, near misses and property damage incidents. Ensure follow-up is done to minimize future exposure and proper records are maintained.
- Provide training materials to all departments to ensure compliance with all Federal, State and Local Regulations and Nestle standards.
- Develop and update written standards in required areas to include but not limited to respiratory, confined space, Hazard communication, hearing conservation, and ergonomics. Provide emergency preparedness for all other programs mandated by OSHA, EPA, and Nestle.
- Maintain a working knowledge of Federal, State, and Local regulations for safe plant operations.
- Ensure all record keeping and reporting functions are completed accurately and submitted to proper agency in a timely manner.
- Monitor, assess, and provide follow-up for recommendations Risk insurance carrier requirements for plant operations.
- Direct, evaluate, and ensure that Nestle required Safety audits are implemented and completed.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Occupational Health or related field
- 1+ years’ experience in a safety or compliance role within a manufacturing, industrial, military or related environment AND 1+ years of leadership experience
The approximate pay range for this position is $55,000 to $92,000 Please note that the pay range provided is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting. Final compensation may vary based on factors including but not limited to knowledge, skills and abilities as well as geographic location.
