Position Summary

 

Just 65 miles from Center City Philadelphia, Allentown is near many major Northeastern U.S. cities, which makes it an ideal location for manufacturing and distributing consumer goods. We utilize thermal processing and high-speed canning to produce varieties of our Friskies®, Beneful® and Pro Plan® brands—product lines that we have carefully produced, packaged, and shipped since 1958. Together, we contribute to Allentown's identity as a busy industrial city, as well as a beautiful rural environment that we are truly proud to call home. That’s why we not only make high quality food for pets but our factory is also doing our part to care for the environment we share, like conserving water, investing in renewable electricity and maintaining zero waste for disposal.

 

As a Specialist Electro-Mechanical II, you will maintain, troubleshoot, repair, and modify production equipment with a focus on electrical and automation systems. Occasional tasks could involve infrastructure/building & grounds work. You will work with production and maintenance personnel to solve problems and implement solutions quickly in order to keep factory assets operating efficiently.

 

  • This role will be required to work 6PM-6AM.
  • Understand how automated equipment and its components work.     
  •  Remain proficient with the operation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of industrial electrical control systems, electromechanical systems, and fluid power.
  •  Properly use mechanical and electrical tools and diagnostic instruments.
  •  Understand the operating principles and function of the electrical control and power components and circuits used in automated equipment.
  •  Size components and wire industrial control circuits based on appropriate industry standards.
  •  Utilize basic rigging, mechanical practices, pipefitting, and welding skills in an industrial environment. 
  •  Demonstrate the use of OSHA safety standards in servicing equipment.
  •  Apply mathematics to solving equipment-related problems.
  • Work independently and collaboratively to maintain equipment and solve technical problems.
  • Effectively communicate technical information through writing and speaking. 
  • Utilize technical vocabulary and interpret graphics and data applicable to the area of electrical and mechanical systems maintenance. 
  • Operate fork lift to move equipment or parts as needed.
  • Remain proficient at utilizing computerized maintenance management systems.
  • Perform other miscellaneous duties as directed by supervision.  

 

Requirements

  • High School or GED Equivalent
  • 2+ years of industrial electrical AND mechanical maintenance experience in a manufacturing, automotive, warehouse, military, or related environment required.
     

The approximate hourly pay for this position is $37.99. Please note that the pay range provided is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting. Final compensation may vary based on factors including but not limited to background, knowledge, skills, and abilities as well as geographic location of the position.
