Position Summary

Just 65 miles from Center City Philadelphia, Allentown is near many major Northeastern U.S. cities, which makes it an ideal location for manufacturing and distributing consumer goods. We utilize thermal processing and high-speed canning to produce varieties of our Friskies®, Beneful® and Pro Plan® brands—product lines that we have carefully produced, packaged, and shipped since 1958. As the Factory Quality Manager, you are responsible for the daily operation of Nestlé Purina PetCare’s canned Quality Assurance program in Allentown, PA.  In this role you will oversee the food safety, sanitation, and pest control program for the grounds, wet plant, and warehouse. The QA Manager monitors all records to ensure compliance with product specifications.  You will prepare and communicate Quality Assurance information and data for all levels of management. 

• Manage strategic planning and daily operation of the factory QA department
• Coach, develop, and mentor the QA team
• Lead the internal and external factory audit programs to verify adherence to certification standards, regulatory requirements, product and process specifications
• Review, maintain, and enhance factory QA resources to support personnel training and competency development, food safety, and quality management systems
• Adhere to ISO requirements and continually monitor external standards to inform internal strategy
• Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment and consistent application of quality standards
• Manage Pest Control Program by monitoring and application of all chemicals, insecticides, rodenticides, fungicides and all fumigants
• Drive the quality pillar in support of Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) for the factory

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Chemistry, Microbiology or related scientific discipline
• 5+ years of Quality Assurance experience in manufacturing, production, military or related environment
• 2+ years of leadership experience in a manufacturing, production, military or related environment

Other

• Food manufacturing experience strongly preferred

The approximate pay range for this position is $102,000 - $145,000. Please note that the pay range provided is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting. Final compensation may vary based on factors including but not limited to background, knowledge, skills, and abilities as well as geographic location of the position.
