Role: Assistant Manager, Customs Clearance

POSITION SUMMARY  
Administrate delivery of all cargo, process of all custom releases, monitor all receivables and ensure work within required timeframe. Assist Import supervisor to resolve all transactional issues. Manage all cargo custom clearance and ensure full alignment with the intermarket supply team and relevant stakeholders (DSP - Transport team - Physical Logistics team). Managing the relationship with customs authorities & local customs agent. Up to date knowledge about all regulations related to all authorities involved in the clearance.  

A DAY IN THE LIFE … 
'Execute all the steps for clearance of Raw/Packaging Materials and Finished Goods 
'Monitor the shipments arrival, maintain status report for all shipments and obtain delivery orders from the shipping lines and forwarding companies
'Obtain any permissions required for clearance
'Proactively check and follow status of shipping documents, update the KPI on a weekly basis and present and address documents errors/delays within the right forums 
'Monitor and track inland transit of shipments.
Ensure on time customs sampling and follow with laboratories to receive the test result at the earliest
Ensure on time customs declaration of the shipments, check and validate the goods information in it
Coordinate shipements and sampling with JFDA and all relevant local and transit authorities
Daily follow up on Lane status and release timelines.
'Track and forecast goods delivery timing and share the weekly deliveries with the stakeholders
Coordinate all deliveries to Nestlé’s Warehouse/DC
Coordinate with DSP Team on prioritization of the clearance and testing shipment to ensure supply as needed
Coordinate with Warehouse Team on the arrival of shipments and any handling of sampling needed
'Validate all local clearance charge invoices
'Monitor and coordinate with 3rd party clearance companies to work according to Nestlé’s strategies and requirement.
'Resolve discrepancies, reduce delays and expedite delivery.
'Manage DO extension if delay in pulling the container or deposit empty container back to port 
'Ensure correct HS code is used for clearing the product and coordinate with HO in case of doubts 

What will make you successful…  
At least 3 years relevant and successful operational experience in one or more of the following:
- Import
- Logistic
1- Knowledge on HS code , existing custom duty agreements between receiving country and supplier 
2- Network with custom officers  and municipality representative in receiving country 
3. Core knowledge of the 10 Corporate Business Principles and expert knowledge in our areas of responsibility. (mandatory - do not remove or change)
4. Knowledge of the WHO International Code of Marketing of Breast-milk Substitutes & the FTSE4Good responsible investment index. (mandatory - do not remove or change).   
5.Knowledge of SAP transactions related to shipment tracking
6. Knowledge in best practice, principles and regulation of Quality, Safety, Health and Environment
