The Opportunity

As a Beverage Innovation Specialist, you’ll be the ambassador for beverage excellence at NPS. You’ll partner with the Sales organization across all U.S. regions to demonstrate the breadth, value, and versatility of our beverage portfolio—leading customer tastings, large-scale industry demonstrations, developing specialty beverages and LTOs, and providing beverage training and drink standards.

This role requires exceptional presentation and communication skills to engage diverse audiences and the ability to demonstrate thought leadership in beverage and flavor pairings—setting trends and inspiring innovation.

This is a remote position requiring 40–60% travel across the United States, depending on business needs. While the role is open nationwide, candidates residing in the Washington, DC or Solon, Ohio markets are preferred.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Sales Enablement: Support national and regional account teams with beverage-led customer engagements, demos, and ideation sessions.
  • Beverage Development: Create specialty coffee and non-coffee beverages, seasonal rotations, and LTOs aligned with brand guardrails and operational realities.
  • Training: Deliver barista skills training and beverage station setup guidance; develop SOPs and e-learning content.
  • Portfolio Demonstration: Curate tastings showcasing NPS beverage solutions; manage demo logistics for trade shows and customer events.
  • Customer Co-Creation: Lead collaborative menu development and flavor pairing sessions, translating outcomes into actionable sell-in materials.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work with Sales, Brand Marketing, and Commercial Development to position products and prioritize applications.
  • Pipeline & Sales Accountability: Maintain and manage a strong pipeline of focused beverage opportunities where expertise will be leveraged to drive sales conversion. Drive progress through proactive engagement, consultative selling, and follow up.

 

Required Qualifications

  • Extensive beverage expertise with deep coffee knowledge and proven barista skills.
  • Experience developing specialty beverages for foodservice or retail café brands.
  • Outstanding presentation and communication skills with the ability to captivate and influence diverse audiences.
  • Proven thought leadership in beverage and flavor pairings, including trend analysis and creative application.
  • Ability to travel extensively nationwide; valid driver’s license; capability to handle demo equipment.
  • 5+ years of multi‑unit, headquarters‑level experience with a national or multi‑market brand.
 

Preferred Qualifications

  • SCA certifications or equivalent barista trainer credentials.
  • Familiarity with beverage station design, equipment basics, and category P&L levers.
 

Scope

This role will cover all U.S. regions, supporting strategic accounts, trade events, and cross-regional initiatives. Expect frequent travel (40-60%) and coordination with multiple sales teams to ensure consistent beverage excellence nationwide.

 

The approximate pay range for this position is $120,000 to $140,000.00. Please note that the pay range provided is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting. Final compensation may vary based on factors including but not limited to knowledge, skills and abilities as well as geographic location.
