We are looking for a skilled Commercial Development Manager to join our dynamic group in Arlington, VA.

In this role, you will evolve Nestle USAs mid to long-term strategies to enable the category growth equation by getting the RIGHT products, at the RIGHT retailers, at RIGHT time. You will be responsible for channels, categories or segment(s) to achieve  category and sales growth, and build market share within our financial guardrails.  

CD Managers are key to ensure agility with our cross-functional partners.   This role is focused on building a commercial plan in partnership with our divisions, which will lead to strategic initiatives spanning across different channels and the 4Ps. You will provide category and segment insight across our customer base, communicate mid and long-term strategies to our field partners - measure, assess, refine and pivot our strategies with clear communication to our customer teams.   This role will serve as the key driver of our commercial strategy enabling and supporting our field partners to build strong customer plans to win with our shoppers across the 4Ps and deliver long-term profitable growth.

 

This role will drive category, channel and customer initiatives including Strategic Revenue Management, Innovation, and New Business Development.  This role will ensure operational efficiencies, success supporting forecasting accuracy, sales performance targets, meeting sales goals, segmentation / resource allocation and proactively building the future commercial strategy. Additionally, this role will also partner to lead key projects that are aligned through the MBS process to drive long-term profitable growth in the category.

You will drive channel, category  and customer centric strategies to enable Product / brand category objectives in concert with division brand teams and as the guide to commercial pillars.  Based on shopper insights, you will establish critical, strategic key points for channel / key customer at the category / segment level and resolve overall category / brand needs at ‘4P’ level. You will advance category driving activities with the marketing team and division leadership and own Commercial Action Plan (CAP) development and deployment.

 

Key Experiences: What experiences are key to success in this job?

  • Minimum 4 years of experience in Sales or Marketing preferred.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively in cross-functional environment.
  • Knowledge of core Business Processes (e.g. Sales/Distribution, Customer Planning and Leading, Financial Reporting, Training, HR Policies, Traceability, Quality Fundamentals).
  • Level-up insights to drive actions and evolve strategies
  • Knowledge of Strategic and Integrated Commercial Planning process.
  • Knowledge of Customer Best Practice, Market Intelligence, Category/Channel/ Shopper trends and shopper Insight into actionable ideas.
  • Financial knowledge in order to evaluate return on investment, EBIT and conduct post promotional evaluation.
  • Shown knowledge of business driving technology solutions (i.e. Nielsen, BW, Source) and internal/external industry insights and trends.
