We are looking for a skilled Commercial Development Manager (CDM) - Business Planning to join our innovative and dynamic group in Arlington, VA.

In this strategic role, you will improve the Nestle USA Sales business development process. You will be responsible for consumer-based category or segment(s) and the achievement of sales volume, category and market share growth and trade spend targets.

This role will be the pulse of the business for our NPWB division; actively leading a specific Category Annual and Monthly Business Planning Process for this seasonal business.  You will provide category and segment insight to selected customers, update Field Sales on segment business development opportunities and monitor/communicate results of initiatives to Field Sales and customers.  This role will serve as the key liaison to the field sales organization, manage the incremental funding process, and utilize our TPM/TPO application to scenario plan around optimal sales and trade plans.

The CDM for Business Planning will ensure operational success via forecasting accuracy, sales performance targets, meeting sales goals, segmentation / resource allocation and improving customer service. You will take charge of achieving volume goals within assigned Commercial Spend budgets, leading trade spend and monthly review for category / segment, finalizing trade fund strategy objectives and deploy rates to support Joint Business Planning and Promotional/Pricing priorities.

You will serve as a category, channel and customer authority for the Division brand teams and as the guide to the field sales teams. You will advance category driving activities with the marketing team and division leadership and own Commercial Action Plan (CAP) development and deployment.

You will develop New Item Execution Plan and presentations, incorporate Brand Objectives, Growth Drivers, Category Roadmap Strategies, Activation Tactics, New Item Plan by channel / customer from Brand plan, Shopper Marketing insights and tactics into the CAP. You will review approved customer and channel strategies by category and build Channel & Customer CAP Strategies.

 

Key Experiences: What experiences are key to success in this job?

  • Minimum 4 years of experience in Sales or Marketing preferred.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively in cross-functional environment.
  • Knowledge of core Business Processes (e.g. Sales/Distribution, Customer Planning and Leading, Financial Reporting, Training, HR Policies, Traceability, Quality Fundamentals).
  • Knowledge of Strategic and Integrated Commercial Planning process.
  • Knowledge of Customer Best Practice, Market Intelligence, Category/Channel/ Shopper trends and shopper Insight into actionable ideas.
  • Financial knowledge in order to evaluate return on investment, EBIT and conduct post promotional evaluation.
  • Shown knowledge of business driving technology solutions (i.e. Nielsen, BW, Source) and internal/external industry insights and trends.
