Position Summary
Join Nestlé IT & Digital, supporting NUSA, as a Data Product Expert accountable for managing and evolving our semantic layer as a product. You'll define the business-friendly data model that powers trusted analytics and AI-ready data consumption across Nestlé USA, turning business definitions, KPIs, and governance requirements into a scalable semantic layer that fuels reporting, self-service analytics, machine learning, and Generative AI. Partnering across business, analytics, and engineering teams, you'll keep the semantic layer standardized, governed, and interpretable so the business can make faster, higher-quality decisions. You'll also liaison with the zone to ensure alignment with the global organization.
- Own the strategy, roadmap, and backlog for the enterprise semantic layer
- Standardize business definitions, KPIs, and metrics across reporting, analytics, and AI/ML use cases
- Translate business processes and requirements into scalable semantic models and governed data products
- Partner with business stakeholders, data engineering, architects, and BI teams to optimize usability, performance, and adoption
- Establish governance standards for metric logic, naming, lineage, documentation, access, and data quality
- Enable semantic structures that support explainability, reuse, and high-performance access for analytics, ML pipelines, and GenAI applications
- Drive training, documentation, and adoption of governed semantic models and AI-ready data assets
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business, or a related field
- 7+ years of experience in data analytics, BI, semantic modeling, or data products
- 5+ years of hands-on experience with modern data and BI platforms such as Snowflake, Databricks, Power BI, Tableau, and dbt or similar semantic technologies
- 3+ years of experience building semantic layers, enterprise KPI and metrics frameworks, and governed data models
Other
- Foundational knowledge of machine learning and Generative AI concepts, including how semantic models and data structures support AI/ML workflows such as consistent metrics, feature readiness, explainability, and GenAI use cases like RAG and embeddings, is preferred
- Working knowledge of Python for data processing, automation, or analytics is preferred
- Familiarity with governance, metadata, lineage, documentation, and data quality frameworks is preferred
- Experience working in environments where data supports advanced analytics, predictive models, or AI-driven insights is preferred

The approximate pay range for this position is $140,000 to $200,000 per year. Final compensation may vary based on factors including but not limited to knowledge, skills and abilities as well as geographic location.
