Reporting into the Senior Manager of Marketing Analytics, the Social Intelligence Lead will leverage the power of social listening and analytics to identify consumer tensions, augment brand research and evaluate marketplace opportunities for Nestle USA’s 30+ brands and other stakeholders across NUSA.  They will see the stories within the data, combine them with context and then generate meaningful insights and strategies that drive the business forward.

They will have a clear understanding of emerging social and digital media platforms and their benefits to the Nestle brand, and have proven experience providing actionable insights in an easy to digest manner.  A proven multi-tasker, the Social Intelligence Lead must be comfortable handling multiple deadlines while always delivering consistent, quality work on time.

 

The Social Intelligence Lead will also own the development and evolution of Nestle USA’s overall strategic roadmap for social listening and insights.  Working cross-functionally, they will create and institutionalize a process for leveraging social intelligence to generate innovative consumer research and provide strategic recommendations.  By harnessing global and NUSA resources, they will grow the social intelligence capability by identifying, training and empowering a team of social listening experts to meet research requests.

 

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Social Listening.  Leverage social media listening tools to create timely research and reporting on consumer insights, marketplace trends, competitive analysis, product insights and emerging consumer tensions.  Combine findings with other digital data sources, identify strategic recommendations and create persuasive presentations.  Deliver findings to NUSA’s 30+ brands, consumer insights, HR, corporate communications, supply chain, and other internal stakeholders.
  • Strategic Partnership with Brands.  Partner with senior brand managers and other NUSA stakeholders to understand business objectives and hone social listening requests.  Tailor findings and takeaways to the brand, assist in the design and presentation of recommendations, and support teams in implementing strategies stemming from research.
  • Social & Digital Analytics.  Advise and support NUSA social measurement, reporting and analytics across Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and TikTok.  Work with community, social strategy and analytics teams to define successful community management KPIs and identify key benchmarks.  Harness social data from native reporting and other sources to create recommendations and optimization strategies for NUSA properties.
  • Technical and Technological Expertise.  Remain abreast of the technologies and emerging solutions that will shape social and digital analytics in upcoming years.  Be fluent in the data sets, structures, and systems that enable advanced social and digital analytics.
  • Administration.  Serve as the NUSA point of contact for Nestle’s larger global social intelligence capability, including managing agency relationships, participating on global social media councils, and helping other markets to leverage social listening to drive business performance.

 

REQUIREMENTS AND MINIMUM EDUCATION LEVEL:

  • Bachelor’s degree in relevant field, Master’s degree a plus
  • 6+ years of experience in social media listening, social insights, consumer research and/or digital analytics

 

DESIRED EXPERIENCE:

  • Experience using Sprinklr, Brandwatch or similar social media listening platform to generate consumer insights and strategic brand recommendations
  • Strong research experience and familiarity with the process for developing consumer and marketplace insights
  • Understanding of the social media landscape, dynamics of community interaction, social best practices, and digital analytics tools
  • Experience using social media measurement and analytics across the major social platforms to drive business performance
  • Experience successfully managing multiple projects simultaneously with limited supervision, collaboration and working successfully with multiple stakeholders and teams
  • Strong storytelling experience through the creation and presentation of compelling PowerPoint decks
  • Solid communication skills and ability to communicate data-driven findings directly to mid- and senior-level managers
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to network and work successfully with a wide range of stakeholders
  • Ability and patience in working with complex data across multiple sources.  Comfort in working with the tools and platforms used to analyze data, create reports and model business performance

 

ADDITIONAL PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

  • General experience in digital marketing a plus (e.g. report generation, marketing campaign analysis, web analytics, AB testing, email performance, social media measurement, content testing, etc.)
  • Experience achieving proficiency in a range of analytics tools and data platforms used to extract and summarize data (e.g. Google Analytics, Google Search Console, Sales Force Marketing Cloud, PowerBI, etc.)
  • Proficiency using Google Analytics or similar platform to evaluate website performance and derive actionable insights
