The Brand PR Manager will oversee the development and execution of external communications for Nestlé USA’s Pizza & Snacking portfolio (Digiorno, Hot Pockets, Tombstone, California Pizza Kitchen, Jack’s) and Bakery Sweets division (Nestlé Toll House, Libby’s, Carnation). Overall, this position is responsible for effectively driving the PR strategy for a select portfolio of brands, serving as strategic counsel and creating easily understood, culturally relevant communications plans and materials that drive brand relevance with consumers. This will include creating, planning, and executing PR for brand’s initiatives, working with key partners at the divisions to determine and define the needs and communication strategy to reach the target audiences, and provide executive communications directives for the Division Presidents during media interviews or speaking opportunities. This role also manages our PR agency partners and collaborates with other market centers of excellence for 360˚ programs.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Support and amplify brand business priorities, activities and messaging through strategic public relations, including measurable, PR-led campaigns with 360-potential to drive cultural relevance, top-tier stories, influencer partnerships, ongoing news bureau activities, and reactive media management.
  • Serve as the embedded PR expert across brands; provide communications expertise and execution support to departments/functions within the business for their initiatives.
  • Build rapport and cultivate relationships with key stakeholders through sound counsel and creative problem solving.
  • Act as spokesperson for unsolicited media inquiries about our brands and operations.
  • Manage PR agencies in all activities: reviewing agency scopes of work; leading plan development and execution, reviewing press materials and documents, results monitoring and reporting; administering annual agency reviews.
  • Prepare communications, often with fast turnaround time. This includes writing, editing, visual assets and producing a variety of communications for external audiences.
  • Provide heavy planning and communications support for meetings and other events as they arise.
  • With Corporate Communications, leverage brand PR moments to tell category leadership stories, tied to corporate growth strategy.

Minimum Education and Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Communications, Business, Public Relations, Marketing or other related field
  • 5-7+ years’ experience in Communications across in-house or agency teams with exposure to executive leadership
  • Hands-on experience leading consumer PR campaigns and proven ability to develop and successfully implement communications strategies
  • Understanding of emerging trends and technologies influencing earned media
  • Previous experience with issues/risk management
  • Agency work experience a plus as well as effectively partnering with PR agency as client to achieve sustainable high performance
  • Strategic, creative business thinking
  • Excellent writing, editing and verbal communication skills
  • Strong project and time management skills and the ability to manage multiple demanding initiatives concurrently, balance multiple priorities, work with minimal supervision, and meet deadlines
  • A strong sense of urgency, a high degree of initiative, and the ability to lead and/or participate in cross-functional teams with highly developed teamwork skills
  • A high level of professional integrity and confidentiality including the ability to work effectively with all levels, including executive management
  • Demonstrated customer service orientation
