The Nestlé Tax team is growing!  Our Tax group is a part of the Nestlé finance organization responsible for all tax matters affecting the US operations, and is involved in all mergers and acquisitions, treasury, and business structuring decisions. The Tax department is a collaborative organization which works closely with legal, legislative affairs, treasury, accounting, human resources and business operations. The US team may be asked to assist other tax professionals globally on cross-jurisdictional initiatives as well as the global tax functional leaders in Vevey, Switzerland.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Provide support to the M&A Tax and Planning teams
  • Participate in, and manage discrete aspects of, M&A Tax and Planning projects, including tax due diligence, modeling of tax benefits/costs, structuring, preparing transaction diagrams, document review, and post-close integration
  • Perform technical tax research and analysis relating to M&A Tax and Planning projects, including compliance, controversy, and audit support
  • Manage small-scale Planning projects with stewardship of the Director of Tax Planning and Integration
  • Obtain working knowledge of proposed, temporary and final legislation; assess impact to Nestlé; and work with tax team to incorporate any tax law changes
  • Manage records retention and documentation in connection with M&A Tax and Planning projects
  • Assist in developing and improving internal processes related to project management, document retention, internal reference databases, and M&A/Planning best practices.
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements and Minimum Education Level

  • JD or CPA required; Master’s degree in Tax or LL.M. Tax preferred
  • 3-5 years of work experience in Federal tax planning and M&A, with exposure to a broad range of federal tax matters, including subchapter C, consolidated returns, and subchapter K
  • Ability to travel 15%
  • Public accounting or law firm experience preferred

  • Ambitious, self-starting and collaborative teammate
  • Ability to manage a direct report
  • Detail oriented while also being a strategic thinker
