The NHW Intern will work closely under the supervision of the Senior Manager of NHW to support the NHW team by driving consumer valued business opportunities through innovative nutrition strategies, product renovations, and effective communication. The scope of the position includes providing expertise on scientifically proven nutrition, consumer-perceived health benefits, and taste strategies to ensure overall wellness.

 

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Apply nutrition knowledge to identify portfolio gaps and opportunities based upon scientific research, consumer trends, competitive landscape and food and nutrition policy environment
  • Provide actionable NHW recommendations grounded in scientific research and emerging policies, ensuring alignment with product positioning and consumer needs.
  • Gather, analyze, and report insights from external stakeholders, including scientific communities, public health experts, and others, to inform NHW strategies.
  • Conduct competitive nutritional analyses to benchmark against industry standards and identify areas for improvement.
  • Monitor established and emerging modern health benefits to support the NHW team in staying ahead of nutrition science and consumer health trentds.

 

 

Qualifications:

  • Completed a minimum of a bachelor’s degree in nutrition and dietetics from a U.S. regionally accredited institution. 
  • Candidates who are currently enrolled in a master’s program or have recently graduated from a Dietetic or Nutrition program are preferred.
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret scientific data.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Passion for nutrition and wellness, with a keen interest in the food and beverage industry.

 

Location: Position to be based in Arlington, VA for 10 weeks.  Housing stipend and relocation assistance provided. 

 

The approximate target compensation range for this role is $28-$30/hr. Please note that the pay range provided is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting. Final compensation may vary based on factors including but not limited to background, knowledge, skills, and abilities as well as geographic location of the position.
