The Commercial Innovation Project Manager is responsible for the efficient, effective, and flawless execution of Commercial Innovation & Renovation (I&R) projects with low-to-medium complexity, plus additional I&R process improvement initiatives; this may also include projects under the banner of sustainability, packaging, or simple process enhancements, with minimal complexity. This person will flawlessly execute the Commercial I&R portfolio is critical to growing market share, profitability, and competitive advantage; I&R is the backbone of growth in the category.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Apply project management tools and skills to ensure the on-time launch and flawless execution of Commercial I&R projects with low-to-medium complexity from concept to launch
  • Project on-time performance (launch date attainment)
  • Consistent positive rating in "how" project team is managed by the project manager (year-end reviews)
  • Creating and coordinating timelines, tracking activities to ensure functional team members are meeting agreed-upon deadlines, generating and communicating status reports, and escalating critical issues
  • Coordinating and facilitating project meetings including kick-off meetings, project team meetings, risk assessments, lessons learned, post-launch reviews, and additional meetings as required
  • Providing transparency, documentation, and communication of project status and risk to cross-functional team members and Project Management Lead

Process Management:

  • Responsible for the consistent application and disciplined execution of Nestlé’s I&R processes and tools.  This includes:
  • Managing projects and their cross-functional teams through the established processes, including the stage gate process and governance meetings.
  • Documenting process improvements and ensuring the implementation of these improvements.
  • Ensuring proper and consistent use of the stage gate project management tool (I2L) by maintaining and ensuring data accuracy, deliverable completion, and documentation as specified by relevant policies and procedures
  • Meeting established KPIs

 

Qualifications / Certifications

  • ​University Degree (BA/BS) and minimum 5 years of related work experience
  • 3 years of recent experience in the CPG or FMCG industry (preferred)
  • Project management skills PMP-certified (preferred)
  • Management software proficiency (e.g., MS Project and Stage/Gate applications)
  • Ability to manage teams and multiple projects
  • Highly organized with strong time-management skills
  • Flexibility & adaptability to perform in a high-volume, fast-paced and dynamic environment
  • Effectively collaborates and influences project team members through strong interpersonal/communication skills
  • Strong facilitation skills
  • Ability to manage conflict and drive resolution (including mitigation/scenario planning)
  • Focused on results, proactive, service-oriented
  • Excellent oral and written skills (from senior management to junior member of a team)

 

Critical Experiences

  • ​Minimum 5 years of cross-functional experience (or 3 years of strong project management in CPG or FMCG)
  • Experience with stage gate methodology
  • Nutrition category experience preferred​
