The Senior Business Strategy Manager will play a pivotal role in supporting the Corporate Long-Term Business Strategy team by executing transformative projects that align with Nestlé USA's strategic objectives. This position will focus on various initiatives, including portfolio management, oversight of strategic priorities, industry and competitive analyses, performance and capability assessments, exploration of new growth opportunities, organizational redesign, and optimization of margins and Return on Invested Capital (ROIC) across the Nestlé USA business.
This individual must possess exceptional analytical and project management capabilities. The ideal individual should be able to maintain a broad strategic perspective while also delving into intricate details. A strong personal drive and accountability for delivering high-quality outputs within tight timelines for senior leadership are essential. An innate curiosity to explore potential risks, opportunities, and the implications of various factors is highly valued.
Results-oriented and agile, the Senior Business Strategy Manager must excel in collaboration with diverse teams, quickly engaging in focus areas as needed. Strong problem-solving skills are crucial for delivering insightful analyses and fostering effective partnerships throughout the collaborative process.
Primary Responsibilities
- Operate with total project ownership from scoping the work, developing a work plan, running the analysis/building content, and delivering all with minimal engagement from supervisors
- Deliver thorough internal and external analyses in a high volume, fast paced and dynamic environment, often under tight deadlines
- Maintain a strong understanding of the broader external landscape including consumer trends, competitor dynamics, customer evolution, etc. and help integrate into strategic recommendations and presentations; may include ad hoc M&A support as broader category assessment / expansion work
- Be data driven and detail oriented, with an eye for the larger picture and long-term implications. Be exceptional at pulling insights from a variety of sources, including databases, industry reports, investor/analyst reports, social media and more
- Leads working groups with key senior stakeholders to develop and drive forward key recommendations for the organization
- Develop high-quality presentations for Strategy/Program/Project discussions at senior levels of the organization (VP and above)
- Source and manage short-term support team members, training them up on required skills, overseeing their work, and facilitating delivery
- Synthesize and present strategic recommendations to senior leadership based on data analyses, industry benchmarks, and growth agendas
- Prioritize deliverables and manage project timelines across various groups and efforts
- Work with team leads to develop concepts & insights that can be translated into executable activities/projects
- Support Program Governance at enterprise level to ensure risk & issue management, strategic alignment & resource use are effectively managed
Requirements
- BA/BS required, MBA considered a significant plus
- 5+ years of related experience (Consulting, Finance), with strong analytical background
- Strong ability to use data to tell stories in a clear, concise manner
- Highly proficient in the development of analysis (Excel proficiency is a must) and highly developed oral & written communication skills (proficiency in Power Point and Word are a must)
- Excellent problem solving skills with a focus on delivering results
- Flexibility and adaptability to deliver in a high volume, fast paced and dynamic environment, often under tight deadlines
- Track record of top-performance with an entrepreneurial “can-do” attitude. Ability to work across diverse business topics and analyses
- Track record of excellent performance with a willingness to work outside of comfort zone and try new things
- Very strong Project Management & Analytical skills
- Understanding of change management and a willingness to challenge the status quo
- Highly organized with strong time-management skills
- Demonstrated business acumen with the ability to effectively collaborate and influence people at all levels in the organization through strong interpersonal and communication skills
