Position Summary:

The Senior Procurement Business Partner, Marketing, is a pivotal role connecting our global procurement organization with our marketing teams. This position serves as a strategic advisor between Marketing and Procurement, enabling early procurement involvement in brand planning, scope development, supplier strategy, and value creation, supporting brands such as Nescafe, Starbucks, CoffeeMate, Toll House, Carnation and more.  (This will vary based on assigned businesses and brands.)  This role will drive strategic value by aligning business priorities with our procurement category strategies and will require analyzing data, distilling impact, identifying opportunities, and communicating findings effectively.

Job Duties/Deliverables:

Strategic Stakeholder Management

  • Understand business requirements and challenges, including priorities, must-win battles, and key value drivers.
  • Translate business priorities into clear procurement requirements, sourcing strategies, and category team priorities.
  • Serve as the face of Procurement, representing Marketing spend categories.
  • Develop and execute a stakeholder management strategy to align procurement objectives with business long-term strategies, priorities, and objectives.  Maintain, build, and grow relationships within both the business and global procurement organization.
  • Translate spending strategy into business strategy at brand level, including risks and opportunities based on market dynamics.
  • Ensure proper alignment and communications between business and category management teams.
  • Work with category management teams to ensure supplier selection approval by business stakeholders and communicate award decisions.

 

Financial and Performance Management

  • Demonstrate an understanding of the Division's P&L and how procurement activities impact key metrics in support of the Operational Master Plan (OMP).
  • Ensure early involvement of procurement in the scoping process to maximize value.
  • Ensure procurement value contribution by using key performance indicators to track and report progress.
  • Present material cost forecast reports (data, graphs, commentary) and category insights to Business stakeholders.
  • Own and measure cost improvement targets and projects; report to business stakeholders as appropriate.
  • Monitor business goals delivered by category teams and periodically reassess targets.

 

Business & Procurement Leadership

  • Demonstrate consumer obsession by understanding key insights about consumers, business priorities, customers, and competitors.
  • Promote strong utilization of tools and new digital practices/ways of thinking to maximize efficiency.
  • Liaise with matrixed, cross-functional teams to achieve ambitious strategies and targets.
  • Continuously improve procurement ways of working by identifying process gaps, clarifying ownership, and creating scalable tools, guidance, and best practices.
  • Stay current on industry and market trends to drive value and innovation.
  • Operate with a high degree of ownership in ambiguous environments, bringing structure, clarity, and recommendations where processes or roles are still evolving.

Measurements/Performance Indicators:

  • Accountable for value added, compliance, cost improvement, business continuity, and other performance metrics

Critical Experiences/Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Finance, Operations, or a related field
  • Preferred 5 years of experience in the Strategic Sourcing, Procurement, Supply Chain fields, Finance or related fields preferred.
  • Knowledge of and experience with global procurement and sourcing processes, legal contract negotiations
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
  • Experience with data analysis and visualization tools, including Power BI

Qualifications/Certifications:

  • Interpersonal skills to effectively build relationships with and influence a dynamic and diverse set of stakeholders
  • Strategic mindset with quantitative, problem-solving, project management, and negotiation skills
  • Proven ability to analyze and present findings clearly and cohesively
  • Adept at managing change.   Comfortable with ambiguity and able to navigate complex problems independently
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to liaise across boundaries and borders and influence with integrity
  • Demonstrates energy, drive, and enthusiasm when striving to accomplish and improve results

 

The approximate pay range for this position is $92,000 to $116,000. Please note that the pay range provided is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting. Final compensation may vary based on factors including but not limited to knowledge, skills and abilities as well as geographic location.
