POSITION SUMMARY:

The Senior Financial Analyst Co-Pilot will support the Director of IT and other senior members of the IT Finance team, acting as a trusted Financial Co-Pilot & Advisor for Canada Market IT & Digital Spend & support NUSA IT + Digital. You will provide strategic financial input to IT strategy of assigned support groups in conjunction with IT leaders and business functional leaders. This role involves driving the strategy, financial objectives and goals of the assigned support groups, instilling financial business acumen, influencing key financial decisions, and ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting and compliance. The position is instrumental in allocating resources, maintaining control of spend, supporting the optimization and quality return on investments, and evaluating and driving overall efficiency to maximize business results based on key strategic business plans.

 

  • Partner with Markets to streamline processes associated with IT and Digital spend management and identify best practices to maximize return on investment across the organization
  • Support financial development and evaluate projects using appropriate financial evaluation tools to ensure fulfillment of investment profitability objectives and alignment with company strategy
  • Evaluate and drive cost improvement and increased value (ROI) opportunities across different functions within operations
  • Prepare accurate annual budgets and subsequent Dynamic Forecasts, ensuring data is comprehensive and appropriately challenged
  • Plan, coordinate, and maintain cost control while measuring performance against plan and report findings
  • Perform strategic financial analysis relating to decisions related to cost of resources and projects
  • Participate in business planning and business case preparation while coordinating economic proposals with operations management
  • Perform routine audit activities to ensure compliance on critical areas such as budget assignments, document justifications, accounting rules for intangibles capitalization, and contracts
  • Establish, promote, and proactively enhance business processes and champion a culture of business excellence within IT and Digital expense control and management

 

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field
  • 3+ years of experience developing and improving financial planning and budgeting processes in major business projects
  • 3+ years of experience in cost, planning, accounting, or business controlling
  • 2+ years of experience in accounting for intangible assets and expense recording for balance sheet integrity in compliance with accounting standards
  • 2+ years of experience in in Excel and SAP (or other ERP System)
  • Domestic travel required up to 10% of the time

 

Other

  • 1+ years of experience in a cross-functional and networked organization
  • 1+years of experience with financial evaluation tools and metrics
  • 2+ years of experience in project financial evaluation and project accounting

The approximate pay range for this position is $86,000 - $113,000. Please note that the pay range provided is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting.
