Position Summary
The Community Affairs Manager will be responsible for managing and executing community programs, volunteer events, employee giving program, and providing input for philanthropic initiatives of the Nestlé USA Foundation. In addition, this individual will be responsible for overseeing tasks associated with the fiscal and community development goals of the department.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Manage national partnership with key non-profit organizations (i.e., Feeding America, National Urban League, and others) to include engaging employees with volunteer opportunities, overseeing that annual goals are met, provide updates to upper management and work with Corporate Communications, where appropriate, to highlight partnership.
- Oversee and lead in annual Nestlé Cares National Week of Service across all Nestlé in the U.S. operating companies.
- Manage and oversee administrative duties of the NUSA Foundation and Nestlé Scholarship Foundation.
- Manage Annual Nestlé Cares Employee Giving Campaign and Dollars for Doers Program.
- Maintain employee giving and volunteer website portal.
- Oversee the Nestlé in the Market Community Affairs Steering Committee to align policies, programs, and procedures.
- Manage Community Affairs operating budget.
- Respond to all inquiries regarding grants, sponsorships, and in-kind donations
- Manage relationship with local non-profit partners in the Greater Washington D.C. region.
- Provide guidance and support for volunteer teambuilding events for various Nestlé teams and divisions.
- Other duties as assigned
REQUIREMENTS AND MINIMUM EDUCATION LEVEL:
- Bachelor’s Degree
- 4-6 years in the areas of corporate foundations, corporate social responsibility, community development and/or nonprofit work
- Preferred 1+ year management experience
- Proven ability to develop and successfully implement project plans and budgets
- Experience with special event planning and execution
SKILLS:
- Strong connections to community organizations
- Familiarity with diverse communities and neighborhoods
- Community outreach, partnership, and coalition building
- Ability and experience in managing and motivating a team
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Must be comfortable with public speaking and have experience making public presentations
