Position Summary


This position supports and manages the Global Mobility tax function and the assigned internal customers on their Global Mobility cases, leading all matters related to international transfer services including relocation, immigration, and taxation. 
 

Responsibilities: 
 

  • Manages the US tax vendor utilized by the Nestlé worldwide companies, including leading and managing the review and implementation of tax policy/position updates.
  • Implements and manages ongoing, annual tax (tax authorization list, etc.) and payroll projects.
  • Drives the Tax Equalization process including analyzing hypothetical tax and final calculations, authorizing tax payments, and collecting tax settlements from the expatriate assignees.
  • Leads the global compensation accumulation process to ensure accurate global payroll reporting and liaise between internal payrolls and tax vendor.
  • Partners with global payroll teams to ensure proper reporting and withholding of income and social taxes on global compensation including equity based compensation.
  • Provides tax consultations and on-going support for assignees regarding mobility related tax policies, questions, and issues.
  • Helps develop the framework and strategies for the Future-of-Work and cross border remote working with responsibility to advise on ways to mitigate risk, reduce costs and ensure individual and corporate tax compliance.
  • Translates complex tax technical matters into common language easily understandable by our employees and internal non-tax technical stakeholders.
  • Holds tax vendor responsible for the delivery of an exceptional employee experience and ensure that they deliver on agreed metrics.
  • Administers the various international tax policies and international split payrolls in various currencies.
  • Consults with expatriate employees and coordinates pre-departure, post-arrival, assignment counseling and related services.
  • Consults with the various US operating companies (HR and business partners) regarding application of expatriate programs, including: employment conditions, taxation implications, and ensuring compliance with Nestlé worldwide guidelines and local employment regulations.
  • Coordinates International Payroll actions regarding transfer related allowances and taxation setups; This includes not only the specific instructions to payroll but also the validation of such calculations through our satellite hub.
  • Partners with the different Finance departments to ensure proper cost allocation of invoicing to and from foreign affiliates.
  • Leads various Global Mobility projects related to expatriation or permanent international transfers such as the annual expatriate salary reviews, tax settlements or year end tax assistance.
  • Perform additional duties and responsibilities as requested by the Director of Global Mobility. 
     

Requirements: 
 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business Administration, HR or in a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience working in a global mobility and expatriate tax function; similar work experience in a multi-national corporation preferred. 
  • CPA and/or Global Mobility Specialist (GMS) professional certification preferred.
  • Demonstrated proficiency using MS Office (Word/Excel/Outlook/PowerPoint) and Excel reporting.  
  • Understanding and strong knowledge of key concepts of global expatriate tax, internal global mobility tax policies and processes, and complex internal global and US local structures.
  • Must have excellent organizational, conflict resolution and communication skills (oral/written).
