Position Summary
The Brand PR Associate/Senior Associate will support our Nestlé USA business which include Nestlé Coffee Partners (Chameleon, Starbuck’s at Home, Nescafé etc.), Beverages (Coffee mate, Starbucks and Natural Bliss creamers, Nesquik etc.) and Foods (DiGiorno, Stouffers, Sweet Earth etc). Overall, this position is responsible for effectively supporting the PR strategy for a portfolio of brands, partnering with Brand PR Managers to provide counsel to Brand Marketers and help produce easily understood communications plans and materials. This role helps create, plan and execute communications for brand’s initiatives, working with Brand Managers and key partners at the divisions to determine and define the needs and communication strategy to reach the target audiences. This role also works with our agency partners and collaborates with other market centers of excellence for 360˚ programs.
Primary Responsibilities:
• Support and amplify brand business priorities, activities and messaging through strategic public relations support including: developing cultural relevance, top tier stories, PR “stunts”, Influencer partnerships, ongoing news bureau activities, and reactive media management
• Help manage agency support in conjunction with Brand PR Managers; serve as liaison between agency and brand marketers, and provide business updates
• Manage multi-pronged projects in conjunction with Brand PR Managers; develop/edit timelines, key messaging, press release/pitching materials, reactive statements, etc.
• Coordinate cross-functionally with partners in Marketing, Legal, Regulatory, Procurement, etc. as needed
• Serve as liaison across Brand PR team sharing insights, best practices and watchouts within the team
• Track and report Brand PR metrics within the larger Corporate Communications function
• Prepare communications, often with fast turnaround time. This includes writing, editing, video assets and producing a variety of communications for external audiences.
• Provide heavy planning and communications support for meetings and other events as they arise.
Minimum Education and Requirements:
• Bachelor’s Degree in Communications, Business, Public Relations, Marketing or other related field
• 3-5+ years experience in Communications across in-house or agency teams; Leadership exposure a plus
• Hands on experience supporting consumer PR campaigns
• Understanding of emerging trends and technologies influencing earned media
• Agency work experience a plus as well as effectively partnering with PR agency as client to achieve sustainable high performance
• Strategic, creative business thinking
• Excellent writing, editing and verbal communication skills
• Strong project and time management skills and the ability to manage multiple demanding initiatives concurrently, balance multiple priorities, work with minimal supervision, and meet deadlines
• A strong sense of urgency, a high degree of initiative, and the ability to lead and/or participate in cross-functional teams with highly developed teamwork skills
• A high level of professional integrity and confidentiality including the ability to work effectively with all levels, including executive management
