This role is pivotal for creating strong connections between Procurement and the assigned business unit. As part of the business partnering team, you will support the business partner leader in driving strategic value for the business. This will require analyzing data, distilling impact, identifying opportunities, and communicating findings to procurement and business professionals in ways they understand. The role will actively engage with cross-functional project teams and communicate to them the business opportunities, sourcing constraints, supply risks, and mitigation strategies as they relate to the project.
 
Responsibilities: 
• Understand business requirements and challenges, including priorities, must-win battles and key value drivers
 o Communicate this understanding to the category management teams at the appropriate level and using procurement language so the sourcing strategies and priorities are defined accordingly
 o Assist in setting the strategic vision for BP procurement team
 o Serve as the face of Procurement, represent all spend categories (direct and indirect)
 o Promote strong utilization of procurement tools and new digital practices/tools/ways of thinking to maximize efficiency of the procurement function 
 o Understand how procurement activities impact the key metrics of the business or function in support of the Operational Master Plan (OMP)

• Liaise with matrixed, cross-functional teams
  o Work with cross-functional teams to achieve ambitious strategies and targets to help grow the business
  o Effectively balance competing constraints between business priorities and procurement objectives, using creativity to achieve both as much as practical
  o Ensure procurement value contribution to the business, using key performance indicators to track and report progress

• Translate spend strategy into business strategy at Brand level – including risks and opportunities based on market dynamics.
  o Present material cost forecast reports (data, graphs, commentary) and category insights to Business stakeholders as appropriate.
  o Own and measure cost improvement targets and projects; report to business stakeholders as appropriate
  o Monitor business goals delivered by the category teams and help periodically reassess the targets

• Ensure proper alignment and communications between business and category management teams
  o Work with category management teams to ensure the category strategy summaries meet business requirements and gain sign-off 
  o Work with category management teams to ensure supplier selection is approved by business stakeholders and to communicate award decision to those affected

• Ensure early Procurement involvement in event management projects and Nestlé Product Development and Introduction (NPDI).

• Continuously contribute to the improvement of procurement function by monitoring performance, raising expectations, and adjusting the organization and business processes to achieve results

• Stay current on industry and market trends, using them to drive value and innovation

Experiences/Education:  
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in applicable fields required
• Knowledge of and experience with global procurement and sourcing processes, legal contract negotiations, and contract management systems
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including but not limited to Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
• Experience with data analysis and visualization tools, including but not limited to PowerBI
• SAP, Ariba, and I-Nexus experience preferred
 
Qualifications/Certifications:  
• Interpersonal skills to effectively build relationships with and influence a dynamic and diverse set of stakeholders, including the ability to listen and understand differing perspectives
• Strategic mindset with quantitative, problem-solving, project management, and negotiation skills and a strong desire for progress and continuous improvement
• Proven ability to analyze and present findings in a clear and cohesive manner
• Adept at managing change and working through ambiguity to identify and drive to a solution, both independently and collaboratively with cross-functional teams
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to liaise across boundaries and boarders and influence with integrity
