POSITION SUMMARY:
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented individual to join our procurement team as a Senior Strategic Buyer - Warehouse (3PL). In this role, you will be responsible for managing the procurement process for third-party warehousing services. Your primary focus will be on sourcing, selecting, and negotiating contracts with third-party warehouse providers to ensure efficient and cost-effective storage and distribution of goods. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including logistics, operations, IT, and finance, to meet the company's warehousing needs and drive cost savings.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Category Strategy Development
- Create and present annual category strategies aligned with business goals using the 7-step sourcing process.
- Build strategic supplier relationships to foster collaboration and innovation.
- Identify and execute cost-saving and simplification initiatives; track and report savings.
- Ensure Business Continuity Plans (BCPs) are in place for assigned indirect categories.
- Share supplier-driven innovation opportunities with Procurement and Supply Chain teams.
Request for Proposal (RFP) Process
- Develop and issue RFPs detailing warehousing requirements.
- Evaluate proposals for pricing, capabilities, and service levels.
- Lead negotiations to secure favorable terms and reduce Total Cost of Ownership (TCO).
Vendor Sourcing and Selection
- Source and assess third-party warehouse providers based on business needs.
- Conduct market research to identify trends, best practices, and cost-saving opportunities.
- Maintain a qualified network of reliable warehouse partners.
Contract Negotiation and Management
- Negotiate and finalize contracts and SLAs with selected providers.
- Partner with Legal and Finance to ensure compliance.
- Monitor vendor performance and resolve contractual issues as needed.
Stakeholder Management
- Act as the main contact for warehouse providers.
- Build strong vendor and internal relationships to ensure smooth operations.
- Lead performance reviews and provide feedback for continuous improvement.
Compliance and Sustainability
- Stay informed on market trends, regulations, and risks affecting assigned categories.
- Ensure alignment with internal policies through cross-functional collaboration.
- Support sustainability goals by partnering with suppliers on carbon reduction initiatives.
REQUIREMENTS AND MINIMUM EDUCATION LEVEL
EDUCATION: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management or a related field.
EXPERIENCE:
- Minimum 5 years of experience in the Strategic Sourcing, Procurement, or Supply Chain fields
- Experience in SAP, Power BI and other advanced data analytics tools preferred
- Experience in Microsoft; Excel, Word, and PowerPoint required
SKILLS:
- Proven experience in procurement, ideally in warehousing or logistics.
- Strategic thinking and long-term category planning experience required.
- Ability to analyze data, identify trends, and make data-driven decisions.
- Strong negotiation, contract management, and analytical skills.
- Familiarity with warehousing operations and strategic sourcing practices.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities including presenting to senior leadership.
- Demonstrate strong collaboration skills and the ability to effectively engage with logistics procurement team and global cross-functional teams
The approximate pay range for this position is $97,107 to $116,792. Please note that the pay range provided is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting. Final compensation may vary based on factors including but not limited to knowledge, skills and abilities as well as geographic location.
