Position Summary
SUMMARY
This position is responsible for the end-to-end planning and management of financial and related master data for the Nestlé Finance and Control (F&C) organization. This role will act as the F&C Data Steward responsible for the data governance and quality management that enable “rock solid” financial and management reporting. The organizational scope of this role will be supporting all Operating Companies receiving service from the shared service teams supported by the Chief Accounting Office. The focus includes all key data elements and their system setup/configuration that support F&C processes (period end close, dynamic forecast, etc.) and applications (SAP, Blackline, Oracle, etc.). You will apply your data management expertise, analytical & project management capabilities, leadership skills, finance subject-matter knowledge and technical understanding to build and lead a data quality management plan, drive organizational data maturity, and leverage and influence cross-functional governance. The ideal candidate is an experienced leader with the ability to think strategically and execute on a vision while managing the details and delivering results.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Data Stewardship:
•Build and lead a data quality management plan to define high-quality and achieve clean trusted data
•Drive organizational data maturity through a data quality mindset, related behaviors, and supporting trainings and materials
•Represent and advocate for F&C in enterprise cross-functional data governance
Data Quality Management:
•Define and document data definitions and data quality requirements in partnership with process owners and IT experts
•Monitor F&C data quality by assessing data against standards, report findings and lead corrective actions including root cause analysis and data cleansing initiatives
•Define processes and guidelines for creating and maintaining F&C data in accordance with data standards
•Participate in technology and process development projects to ensure required changes to data definitions and requirements are identified, governed, and implemented
Data Governance (in partnership with functional Data Stewards and other data governance and IT team members):
•Ensure understanding and implementation of F&C data requirements, and data elements not owned by F&C
•Ensure changes to critical data elements are controlled and managed cross-functionally and act as project lead for implementation of such changes.
•Define enterprise data procedures and policies
•Enforce enterprise data related policies, to ensure compliance with the data privacy, security and data governance standards
•Review and approve access to data lake functional/product folders
REQUIREMENTS
•Bachelor’s Degree in business or related field required; MBA preferred
•Formal training/certification in Data Management & SAP Organizational Structures and Design (FICO module)
•Minimum 5 years of experience managing complex business data implementation initiatives, including successfully managing multiple functional and technical projects in a fast-paced environment
•Experience with SAP master data setup and maintenance preferred, experience with multiple types (material, vendor, customer, etc.) a plus
•Analytic skills to review data quality results, generate insights, identify root causes, and take actions
•Data analysis skills to understand the usage and transformation of data in advanced analytics
•Language and visualization skills to bring consensus to definitions and models so that people can understand data
•Strategic thinking to see opportunities to use data to serve customers and meet goals
