Position Summary

This position monitors and drives the disciplined execution of company-wide transformational strategic projects to ensure strategic, financial, and operational objectives are achieved. This role reports to the Chief Strategy Officer (CSO) and is responsible to lead key strategic endeavors, namely in the formulation, execution and monitoring of the Nestle USA (NUSA) strategic & operational plans.

 

Responsibilities:

 

  • Monitor the marketplace to identify and assess key consumer and industry trends/opportunities/threats that can inform NUSA’s strategy and operational plans
  • Support the CSO in the formulation and tracking of the strategic and operational plans, including the cascade through NUSA’s Business Units and Corporate Functions
  • Perform strategic and economic analyses on new business opportunities, including support to pre and post M&A activities. Assess business model options and seize market trends to substantiate long-term business prospects
  • Deep understand of key drivers of shareholder value creation and how they influence companies’ portfolio strategy and business model design
  • Coordinate with internal departments in identifying and implementing business development projects
  • Set and communicate project priorities to NUSA’s C-suite, and drive the project teams to meet commitments and expedite key business decisions
  • Monitor project timelines, achievements, and resource usage and program-level risks and mitigation
  • Mobilize, coordinate and inspire cross functional/divisional teams on a project basis
  • Liaise with the Leadership Team to expedite decision-making for C-suite strategic business decisions
  • Engage with Leadership Team to achieve adoption and support for standard methodologies on transformational journey concepts
  • Act as a ‘change agent” within her/his projects, balancing between collaborative consensus building and the need to ‘push and stretch’ NUSA to change.

 

Requirements:

 

  • A minimum of a Bachelor's degree is required. An MBA degree is highly preferred
  • A minimum of 7-10 years of related work experience in any of these relevant functions: strategic marketing, corporate finance, portfolio management, strategic planning, business development
  • >5 years’ experience in a top strategy consulting firm or investment bank is preferred, with experience in corporate strategy and business development
  • Experience in the following areas: Business Strategy, Business Development, Commercial Acceleration, Margin Optimization, Program Management and Change Management
  • Marketplace knowledge to include consumer, customer, competition, and business models is required
  • Highly developed expertise in strategy development, including project formulation, hypotheses development, financial and business modeling, strategic options identification, consensus building and implementation
  • Strong analytical, project management and change management skills to provide solid business conclusions and recommendations
  • International experience within CPG (or adjacent industries) is considered a critical advantage
