Position Summary
This position reports to the VP of Business Transformation and is responsible for supporting the implementation and execution of project portfolio process across Nestlé in North America, specifically in Digital Transformation, M&A activities and business transformation activities. This position will support the portfolio management team and work across functions and businesses. An ideal candidate should be an experienced at analyzing and managing IT portfolios, with the ability to execute a vision while managing the details. This position is based in Nestlé USA’s headquarters in Arlington, VA.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Analyze portfolio performance, risks, and alignment with the strategy to support fact-based decisions on enterprise investments.
• Support implementation of the project portfolio process and governance
• Develop portfolio and financial reports to support decision-making process across the portfolio governance bodies.
• Work with the Project Managers, Portfolio Team, Business Leads, IT, and Value Capture Office to publish reports to monitor Costs & Benefits to Executive Leadership Committee
• Facilitate intake process for new business cases and change requests
• Move program and projects through portfolio approval steps and maintain portfolio tool up to date.
• Build trusted and effective relationships with the project managers across the organization to ensure on-time, on-budget, on-benefit and on-quality project and portfolio delivery and facilitate issues resolution
REQUIREMENTS AND MINIMUM EDUCATION LEVEL:
• Bachelor’s Degree in business or related field required; an MBA is preferred
• Portfolio management certification (PMI PfMP, Axelos MoP or other) or equivalent experience is required.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Strong analytical/quantitative capabilities, and problem-solving skills
• Strong Finance and Business acumen
• Comfortable with ambiguity and uncertainty; the ability to adapt nimbly and lead others through complex situations.
• Ability to travel as needed
EXPERIENCE:
• At least 3 years of experience in IT or Finance Portfolio management and governance
• At least 2 years of experience in project coordination, management and/or project delivery.
• Experience successfully collaborating with functional team in a fast-paced environment.
SKILLS:
• Understanding and analyzing quantitative investment data, experience with database and/or quantitative tools.
• Ability to work in a complex matrix organization
• Facilitates communication between different business partners and IT and plays a central role in managing and collecting portfolio data to support the business decision-making process.
• Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills with an ability to express complex technical concepts in business terms.
• Strong analytical aptitude
• Ability to lead teams and coach team members without a direct formal reporting relationship.
• Ability to set clear expectations and hold cross functional teams accountable.
