We are looking for passionate technical talents who will support the installation, start-up and operation of modern and highly automated production systems during the launch of a new manufacturing site. 
You will contribute to a greenfield project within a global organization committed to quality, safety and continuous improvement. 
The new Greenfield lighthouse factory for wet Petfood is located in the North of Italy. The manufacturing site consists of 2 lines together with the Distribution Center of Nestlé Italy hosting 120K Pallets and a state-of-the-art Automatic Retrieval and Storage System.

 

Position Snapshot
•    Nestlé Purina Italy, Factory in the North of Italy 
•    Permanent role, full-time
•    University Degree in technical studies. Engineering background would be preferred.
•    Previous experience in complex construction sites  
•    Previous HSE management in multi-contractor environments  
•    Experience in translating policies and standards into operational plans  
•    Development and implementation of Project / Site HSE Management Plans  
•    Specific training in Health & Safety or relevant certifications
•    Fluency in Italian and English is required. 

 

Position Summary 
Ensure excellence in safety, health and environmental sustainability during construction. Develop and communicate the Project HSE Management Plan and ensure its effective implementation. Monitor site standards, recognise good performance and challenge and address poor performance. Communicate with local authorities and communities as well as Nestlé management.


A Day in the Life of the Project HSE Manager:
•    Ensure Compliance: Ensure compliance with local HSE legislation and Nestlé HSE standards and principles by ensuring HSE is integrated into project planning, operational reviews, design-for-construction, and contractor management.
•    Create HSE Management Plan:  Develop the site HSE Management Plan and communicate to project management and contractors. Ensure the plan includes effective risk management procedures for worker orientation & training, risk assessment, method statements, lifting plans, permit to work, emergency planning, etc. Modify the Plan as required during the project to reflect changes in risk.
•    Ensure Safe & Healthy Site: Ensure the site is under control with secure access, safe access and egress routes, correct signage and with relevant risks effectively managed.  Ensure high standards of health & hygiene conditions for workers, with appropriate emergency medical response.
•    Ensure Safe & Healthy Work Practices: Ensure implementation of site risk management procedures.  Ensure that specific safe working practices are in place with a focus on high frequency risks (eg slips, trips, falls, injuries from sharp points and edges) and high hazard tasks (eg work at height, critical lifting, hot work).
•    Develop Capability of Managers: Ensure training and coaching is provided to managers and team leaders to develop their knowledge of risk management, legislation and duties. Provide personal coaching and support to the Site Management Team.
•    Provide Guidance & Support: Ensure managers receive trusted guidance & support on HSE matters. 
Identify and leverage expertise and good practices from inside and outside Nestlé.  Co-ordinate internal & external resources to deliver high quality and efficient SHE supports, e.g. exposure monitoring, health promotion, health surveillance, training.
•    Audit & Review: Ensure compliance is regularly audited and performance assessed, and the results used to drive further improvement. Promote effective communication of successes and learnings, and recognition for strong performers and contributors.
•    Engagement: Engage with stakeholders (e.g. contractor representatives, trades unions, local regulators, local communities, and local NGOs) on HSE topics to build positive relationships.

•    Previous experience in leading HSE in a multiple contractor environment.
•    Previous experience in working in senior HSE role on significant construction site.
•    Translated policies & standards into practical action plans.

•    Communicated effectively with different organisational levels.
•    Developed site HSE Management Plans and implemented on site.
