Position Summary

Recognising the strategic importance of logistics, as well as our position as one of the largest shippers of FMCG goods in Europe, Nestle is transforming the way we manage logistics through the establishment of centralized transport teams – T-Hubs.  In this role you will work as part of the THub that is responsible for the area of Southern Europe.  With an ever expanding coverage, the THub South is increasingly covering a major part of Nestle’s transportation needs in Europe – ensuring the highest levels of service and cost whilst also supporting a low-carbon logistics transformation in the coming months and years.  
In this key leadership team role working directly for the THub Head, you will also work with the Strategic Procurement Division based in our Headquarter in Switzerland, responsible for implementing the new group's road transportation procurement strategy defined "above the market". Your responsibilities will be to organise and manage your team in order to best deploy the different procurement activities required to support and to materialize the global targets. You will work closely with your transportation colleagues in the T-Hub in order to identify and deploy opportunities, as well as with “above market” colleagues.  In addition to translating the business needs into a coherent transport strategy, you will be accountable for the execution of the procurement strategy for the scope of the THub.   

 

 

A day in the life of Transportation Procurement Lead Partner

  • Manage, Coach and support development of procurement team, ensuring people processes are followed and adhered.
  • Support the “above market” Procurement Category Lead when it comes to defining the road transportation strategies for scope of THub South
  • Managing key relationships with Transportation Providers across the region
  • Transportation Contracts and SLAs management
  • Support the procurement team to collect and to understand the markets needs
  • Support the procurement team in running the tender processes and working with the THub team, ensure the flawless execution of the agreements.
  • Ensure supplier performance and act as point of commercial escalation to meet business needs 
  • Ensure Compliance to Nestlé's Corporate Business Principles, policies, standards and Procurement Policy, Procurement Standardized Model, Best Practices, etc
  • Establish relationships with stakeholders to communicate and explain the benefits of the procurement division category strategy adoption

 

 

What will make you successful

  • At least 10 years demonstrated experience in road transportation sourcing or supply chain related functions within an international and large scale business environment 
  • Knowledge of Italian and Southern Europe Transportation markets and its logic 
  • Solid experience in coaching and people development 
  • Ability to optimize processes and drive performance 
  • Ability to effectively communicate with external and internal stakeholders and work in a matrix environment 
  • Analytical mindset and good influencing skills 
  • Learning agility and entrepreneurship
  • Mastering in excel, SAP, Power BI 
  • Good organizational and planning skills
  • Fluent English and Italian and ideally Spanish or Portuguese
