In order to complete our IT Platforms Department, we are currently looking for a Cloud Platform Architect

As Platform Cloud Architect you will work in environments with wide and diverse range of technologies, solutions supporting Digital Brand Presence on different platforms, needs and requirements.

The position requires a strong emphasis on designing technical solution and presentation skills of Cloud technologies including LAMP stack, Azure/GCP and/or AWS, Kubernetes and scripting, and, in addition, understand of basic concepts of Networking, VPN, DNS, NAT, Security and Web hosting mindset.

Our new architect is empowered to work directly with Nestlé’s suppliers as well as internal Architecture & Integration team and Operations staff. As the company´s internal Service provider we can offer hybrid solutions encompassing public clouds, private clouds, colocation services, content delivery networks, block-based cloud storage, web application firewall, etc. to our markets.  Our team of experts is expected to be leaders in the field of Cloud Computing, Data Center technologies and Internet technologies. We are building a reputation within the industry as the visionaries in digital and social.

The Platform Cloud Architect will be expected to have a strong background in the managed hosting and cloud services environment to be able to define customer requirements and translate those requirements into IT managed technical solutions and, in addition, should be able to articulate these solutions in a manner that is technically accurate and drives Nestlé’s markets to success with commercial efficiency.

A day in the life of...
  • Act in a consultative role for the Nestlé markets and work directly with market’s technical counterparts to identify specific requirements and design custom solutions within the IT Service Offering Portfolio to meet functional requirements
  • Drives platform innovation and exploit automation
  • Have a mindset of continuous innovation, continuous learning and improving
  • Drive upgrades, improvement initiatives and innovation proposals for the IT Platforms area
  • Coordinate the delivery of the designed and purchased solution to the Nestlé’s markets ensuring those meet Digital Asset Hosting standards and transition of the solution to sustain and operational teams
  • Support the Nestlé’s markets in designing solutions from IT suppliers in a managed competition environment following latest technology trends, RFQ/RFP process in the best interest of the company
  • Defines Operational requirements and gaps for new and existing solutions.
  • Internally, the Platform Architect is the Nestlé’s markets interface for IT suppliers and the operational staff across the organization.
  • Collaborate with project managements in the infrastructure area, and the suppliers as IT teams to eliminate root causes/escalations
  • Mentoring and supporting other team members in the Digital Infrastructure team and outside, regarding new technologies, process and roadmaps
     
What will make you successful
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, business administration or related field, or equivalent work experience
  • At least 5 years of demonstrable experience in architecture for large scale digital channels, working with ITOps, IT Operations, Managed Hosting or Cloud Computing required
  • At least 5 years of demonstrable experience with cloud architecture - including PaaS, SaaS, IaaS with focus on scalability, security and integration challenges
  • Devops and agile principles work environment experience
  • Experience with public and private cloud technologies, dedicated and multi-tenancy environments
  • Deep understanding of web, eCommerce, B2C, social and mobile applications: how they function, interact and ultimately how to protect them
  • Experience in architecting Hosting infrastructure to include Enterprise Networking, Servers, Firewalls, Load Balancers, IP Connectivity and SAN Storage
  • Computing experience in Azure/GCP and/or AWS in terms of configuration, sizing, performance etc.  Cloud certifications highly desirable
  • PaaS, Docker, Kubernetes and Serverless experience
  • Strong understanding of security aspects of hosting infrastructure and web, eCommerce, B2B/B2C, social and mobile applications
  • Strong written and verbal communications skills
  • Ability to write and defend technical business proposals
  • Confident sales presence, refined sales acumen and the ability to exert influence appropriately
  • Self-reliant and takes initiative to get things done without having to rely on others for minimal guidance
  • Travel availability 2 to 4 times per year
