Position Summary

 

As the Senior Transportation Manager, you will be responsible for the transportation processes by proactively providing solutions for current business needs while supporting solutions that enable business growth. You will support, guide, and provide clear communication of transportation-related supply chain topics, as well as management of business partners. This includes responsibility for sourcing carriers, obtaining competitive quotes, negotiating rates, monitoring performance, communicating status, resolving issues, and approving invoices.

 

Primary Responsibilities

  • Communicate with all levels in the organization to drive transportation operational and financial results within the assigned region
  • Perform plant visits and customer visits as appropriate for coaching and development, and to ensure processes and programs are implemented within specified timelines
  • Responsible for developing and achieving individual plant transport KPIs, including freight budgets and service
  • Monitor spending to ensure that expenses are consistent within approved budgets

 

Basic Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Transportation, Supply Chain, Business, or related field
  • 5+ years of experience providing customer service and logistics support in a manufacturing, military, or transportation environment
  • 1+ years of people leadership experience
