Permanent position
Location: Amiens - France
BS in Mechanical Engineering or related field. Advanced degree preferred.
Minimum 2 years of R&D or/and operations/factory experience

Our proposal

You develop packaging equipment technology to support the innovation and renovation of products and packages from inception through all stages of development.  
You support packaging equipment performance improvement projects in Purina factories, using problem-solving methods to identify issues and providing engineering solutions to improve performance
 

A day in life of a packaging equipment associate engineer

Project management and project-related activities (60%)
• Design and develop packaging equipment concepts for Petcare products with emphasis on efficiency and flexibility.
• Lead packaging equipment engineering activities of Nestlé Purina Petcare projects: define activities including resource planning, utilize existing internal and external knowledge and information, deliver end products of defined quality in the agreed timeline by taking into account Nestlé/Nestlé Purina norms and standards 
• Leverage the packaging equipment engineering, design & know-how within the PTC Packaging & Design but as well within Nestlé Purina / Nestlé.
• Provide packaging equipment engineering support to project leaders and pilot plant.
• Provide packaging equipment engineering related operational support and initiate and assist Pilot Plant trials, factory trials, and trials at supplier sites regarding packaging developments. 
• Manage relationship with external packaging service providers, including time scheduling and controlling of resource planning
• Protect intellectual assets in cooperation with intellectual property specialist 


Innovation/Science (20%)
• Introduce new packaging equipment engineering ideas and solutions to long-term trends to PTC project teams and other interested parties
• Constantly strive for new packaging equipment and their use/advantages within NPP product portfolio

Knowledge Building/Communication (20%)
• Communicate/Document knowledge/Best Practices around engineering packaging & design within and outside NPP
• Share and transfer knowledge to other PTC/R&D centers and NPP regions (Team Room/ Newsletter)
• Participate/Organize packaging equipment training courses/workshops to train interested parties regarding packaging issues.
• Active participation within one of the Global Packaging networks / platforms.

Quality, Safety, Health and Environment:
Strictly apply Health and Safety procedures and stay alert at all times

Experience with industrial packaging equipment
Expertise in mechanical, pneumatic, and electrical systems
Proven ability to create original, differentiating technology and apply technical knowledge to meet business needs
Up to date knowledge of quality, safety and hygiene requirements of food packaging equipment 
Analytical with interest to translate science and technology into consumer benefits and business winning concepts
Problem structuring/issue identification, solution finding
Written and oral communication skills in English (including presentations)
Interpersonal/teamwork skills and a strong interest of business/technical interrelationships
