Position Summary

The Millwright will Install, maintain and improve both electrical and mechanical equipment. Ensure efficient, safe operation of machinery by setting and adjusting devices to within allowed tolerances.

A day in the life of Millwright:

• Administrative task:

Complete the necessary administrative tasks for AMM, SHE, CDM and MDWT.

Interact with production, Suppliers and contracting staff

Coaching and mentoring technical operators and apprentices.

• Carry out the planned maintenance required on plant:

Incumbent must be pro-active and prevent breakdowns on his/her patrols and shows initiative to continuously improve equipment performance – condition-based maintenance.

Ensure that all work is performed in a Safe and Environmentally conscientious manner

• Electrical and Mechanical disciplines:

repair and maintain existing and new equipment.

Attend to electrical and mechanical faults/breakdowns within the factory.

Basic troubleshooting on PLC’s and SCADA systems.

Programming and faultfinding on VSD’’s and soft starters.

Programming and faultfinding on defined instrumentation and calibration.

• Safety:

Always Adhering to Safe Working Permit procedures (e.g. confined space, working at height, hot work, LOTO etc.)

Ensure any dangerous conditions to be made safe immediately.

Ensure that during all work done, food safety is never compromised.

Correct errors on electrical and mechanical drawings, update accordingly.

Alignment of goals to achieve NCE objectives.

What will make you successful?

1. Basic working knowledge of PLC’s 
2. Basic welding experience                                                                                                               
3. A minimum of two years ‘experience in both electrical and mechanical disciplines.                                                                                              
4. Preferably have a Certificate of Registration as an ‘Installation Electrician’.                                                                                            
5. Served Apprenticeship and qualified with a Millwright Trade Test Certificate (Electro mechanician)
