AUTOMATION & AI QUALITY ENGINEER

The Role:

As an Automation & AI Quality Engineer, you will be accountable for identifying, designing and enabling the use of Artificial Intelligence to enhance Quality Engineering practices across the organization.
This role sits within the Quality Engineering Enablement & Governance team/QA Office and focuses on applying AI to testing and quality processes, not on validating AI-based products.

You will work closely with Automation Architects, Automation Engineers, DevTest Platform Engineers and Product Teams to integrate AI capabilities into automation frameworks, testing workflows and quality decision-making, maximizing efficiency, scalability and insight.

In This Role, You Will:

• Identify and design AI use cases to enhance QA and testing (e.g. test generation, test optimization, flaky test detection, failure analysis).
• Define how AI can be integrated into existing automation frameworks (UI, API, mobile, performance) in a scalable and maintainable way.
• Evaluate and pilot AI-powered testing tools and platforms, including build-vs-buy assessments.
• Work with Automation Architects and SDETs to embed AI capabilities into test frameworks and pipelines.
• Define guidelines and best practices for the responsible and effective use of AI in Quality Engineering.
• Support squads by enabling AI-driven testing approaches through documentation, examples and coaching.
• Collaborate with DevTest Platform Engineers to integrate AI solutions into CI/CD pipelines and observability.
• Continuously monitor industry trends and emerging AI capabilities relevant to Quality Engineering.

What We’re Looking For:

• Strong background in test automation and Quality Engineering (UI, API, CI/CD).
• Hands-on experience applying AI or ML techniques to software engineering or testing problems.
• Solid understanding of automation frameworks and test architecture principles.
• Ability to translate technical AI capabilities into practical QA improvements.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work in an enablement and advisory role, not as an execution-only tester.

Extra Skills That Set You Apart:

• Experience with GenAI tools (LLMs, prompt engineering, AI assistants for code or testing).
• Experience with test observability, analytics or data-driven QA.
• Exposure to performance testing, test data management or complex CI/CD ecosystems.
