We are looking for a Configuration Management Expert to be part of our Nestlé Nespresso Digital and Tech Team. At Nespresso, our Digital & Tech teams are at the heart of our innovation journey, a space where we continue to invest, evolve, and grow.

The Role:
The Configuration Management Expert plays a crucial role in ensuring that all configuration aspects related to software releases are managed effectively and aligned with project requirements. This role is responsible for overseeing the planning, execution, and validation of configuration changes, ensuring they meet both business and technical needs.
In this role, the expert coordinates with various stakeholders to gather requirements and define configuration specifications, and facilitates effective communication across teams so that all stakeholders are informed about release configuration processes and changes.
The Configuration Management Expert also supports end-to-end delivery, including post-live support and analysis, to ensure that issues are identified and resolved promptly. The role is committed to continuous improvement, regularly reviewing processes and making recommendations to enhance efficiency and effectiveness in release configuration management. A strong understanding of DevOps ways of working and readiness to evolve processes in line with DevOps standards are expected. Expertise in configuration management and a solid understanding of the release process are essential.
In This Role, You Will:
- Develop a comprehensive high-level plan outlining tasks, timelines, and responsible parties, and utilize appropriate coordination tools when needed.
- Ensure that all preparation activities are thoroughly documented, following checklists to maintain accuracy and completeness.
- Lead alignment calls and ongoing communication with technical teams, stakeholders, and management to ensure a smooth and coordinated intervention process.
- Conduct post-release reviews in collaboration with technical teams and stakeholders, focusing on identifying root causes, implementing corrective actions, and following up to drive continuous improvement.
- Take ownership of the configuration process and ensure successful delivery to production.
- Design, develop, maintain, and run scripts to align configuration across applications.
- Create and provide milestones for configuration tasks within the Release Management timeline, and create Confluence pages to support planning.
- Create release timelines and supporting documentation.
- Participate in and facilitate configuration-related meetings (such as go-live and dry-run sessions).
- Clean up the impex repository and create new branches as required.
- Create pull requests in the repository and add team members as reviewers.
- Merge release branches with the master branch for configuration-related tasks.
- Ensure weekly builds of the release impex repository.
- Align releases with other activities, such as parallel projects.
- Ensure alignment of test data across applications.
- Manage properties and translation configurations.
- Update delivery and release configuration notes.
- Own and maintain the communication plan.
- Collaborate with the wider IT community, including Development, Testing, Support, and Operations teams.
- Review and analyze requests (tickets) submitted through Jira.
- Measure and monitor progress to ensure that application releases are delivered on time and meet or exceed expectations.
- Create impex files for configuration in the local repository.
- Deploy configurations to the testing environment.
- Test configurations in the testing environment.
- Validate configuration changes in the testing environment and update the corresponding Jira tickets.
- Support testing activities by providing the required configuration.

- 8+ years of strong hands-on experience in Configuration Management and Release Management
- Solid understanding of DevOps ways of working
- Experience working with distributed, cross-functional teams
- Strong analytical and problem-solving mindset with ownership attitude
- Proficiency with release and collaboration tools

- Hands-on scripting or automation experience for configuration alignment
