Position Summary
- The SAP Technology Lead is accountable for the continuous value delivery of IT Product Groups and Platforms. S/He oversees sustain, deployment, retirement and leverage and ensures the effective and efficient operational support of all internally or by a third-party managed product and platform groups in scope for the day-to-day delivery of all operational and technical planning, organization and coordination of all the required services.
- Secure partner delivery quality and value for money by providing transparent partner performance metrics (in accordance with contracts and agreed governance with the partners).
- Assess and manage risk in the partner ecosystem - involves assessing the key categories of financial, operational, compliance, strategy and geographic risks.
- Organize and Chair partner(s) governance: manage periodic reviews, share metrics, define action plans and monitor actions.
- Provides technical escalation support for specialists and Nestlé suppliers to ensure service level objectives are met.
- Contribute to increasing flexibility by leveraging partners to meet growing business demand and help Nestlé people to be focused on added value activities.
- Support the Product Group management to drive business value through increasing vendor productivity and managing the service risk. Provide contractual parameter input, tools, agreements to support contractual negotiations.
- Measure, monitor and provide transparency on all aspects of IT performance (product group key value indicators, IT workforce, IT transformation…) to support IT and Functional / Product management's decision making.
- In addition, Expert might be involved in more complex vendor management negotiations with the support of the Service Owner such as
• Provide input/support Management Governance meetings
• Support/Lead the Quarterly Operation Meetings for the full scope of services.
- The overarching goal of this role is to ensure that quality, efficiency, productivity and agility goals are achieved at the best value for money. S/He builds and maintains relationships with product and platform group managers, developing a clear understanding of product/platform strategy and works with supplier teams to ensure good coordination of product changes without impacting IT Consumers and business processes.
- S/He guides and promotes optimal use of technology to support the cost-effective delivery of business requirements within their area of expertise.
- S/He should be self-motivated to find opportunities and take initiatives.
- Travel activity is low, depending on the project assigned, averaging at below 10%.
A day in the life ....
- Provides oversight in the products’ ‘run’ and 'maintain' phase to deliver the committed product business value, and provides input to peers
- Act as BRM (Business relationship management ) in the region for specific functional stream/s ensuring closeness to business, speed of delivery and innovation with purpose
- Supports and influences the partners to drive improvements to meet the objectives.
- Leads ITP Vendor Governance for SAP Technologies: defines action plans and monitor actions for all partners.
- Responsible to cascade & execute Vendor Management Standards, Best Practices, WOW, etc. published by Vendor Management Office (VMO).
- Maintain and evolve the relationship between the partners, Nestle SAP Technologies team and the receivers.
- Chair weekly, monthly governance with partners and guide them to meet IT objectives and KPIs.
- Provide comprehensive quarterly partner outcomes and key achievements to Nestle management and VMO office.
- Provides technical escalation support for experts, specialists and Nestlé suppliers to ensure service level objectives are met
- Ensure optimal service at the right cost versus quality with ability to right size at the point of need
- Leads the development of operational aspects and ensures their end-to-end integration and value delivery
- Participates in the assessment of external and internal technology capabilities with a focus on suitability for integration with the existing IT operations environment
- Contribute to increasing flexibility by leveraging service providers to meet growing business demand and help Nestlé people to be focused on added value activities
- Enables and fosters transversal skills to support products, product/platform groups and/or streams to ensure operational excellence.
- Continuous improvement in effectiveness and efficiency of operational support for internally or by third party managed product or platform groups within in scope
- Supports the IT Performance Management in analysing product/platform usage and performance by gathering respective data
- Ensure sustainable alignment in the end-to-end service delivery in the stream with the Global model, including services delivered internally and by suppliers
- Act as single-point-of-contact (SPoC) for operational related escalations
- Works with product teams including partners to ensure good coordination of product changes across multiple products without impacting IT Consumers and business processes
- Builds and maintains relationships with product team leaders to develop a clear understanding of product strategy, product value delivery planning and of business needs
- Provides timely updates and information to IT Consumers/stakeholders on platform issues and maintenance windows
- Fosters collaboration from his/her operations team in project teams for small-scale business process improvement projects and/or Business Requirements
- Coach, develop and mentor the team to strive for their full potential.
- Define and cascade SMART (specific, measurable, achievable, realistic, timely). objectives to help deliver overarching Nestle IT objectives,
- Ensure partner delivery quality services as per the contractual framework and service levels.
What Will Make You Successful
- Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, information systems, business administration or related field, or equivalent work experience
- 12+ years of experience in IT, thereof 8+ years in IT Operations SAP BASIS Technologies.
- Good Understanding of BASIS Technologies such as HANA, S/4 suite, SAP Business suite (ERP, BW/BI, APO, PI), SAP SaaS Solutions (BTP, SSF) etc.
- BASIC understanding of Cloud technologies such as Azure, AWS, GCP.
- Experience in effectively managing cross-functional teams, influencing key stakeholders, across the organization and within complex contexts
- Experience in service management principles and execution
- Experience explaining technical concepts and technologies
- Demonstrated experience in establishing standard processes and managing performance to achieve key metrics
- Preferably proven experience or demonstrated capability in leading IT operations teams in complex and dynamic environments requiring 24/7 support
- Understanding and knowledge of product lifecycle methodologies (such as Agile/SCRUM principles, DevOps, project management principles)
- Experience in effective communication at different level in the organization and in English
- Experience to have worked in a global environment and with virtual teams
- Understanding and knowledge of IT standards and controls
