Senior Full-Stack Commercetools Developer

The Role:

By joining Nestlé Nespresso Digital and Tech Team, you will be working on technology powering the Nespresso eCommerce business. You will work in a direct-to-customer context with significant volumes and traffic and a very rich feature offering, being part of a large engineering organization with direct impact on the online business.

As a Senior Developer, you will the team responsible for designing, building, and maintaining scalable eCommerce solutions on the commercetools platform. The ideal candidate will be responsible for customizing, extending, and integrating the platform with various third-party systems to ensure high-performance, secure, and user-friendly storefronts and administrator tools.

In This Role, You Will:

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
• Design and develop scalable eCommerce solutions based on commercetools, focusing on customizations and extensions.
• Integrate third-party systems, APIs, and services with commercetools.
• Contribute to testing activities for new features or updates, ensuring compliance with security and data privacy standards.
• Implement best practices for code quality, performance, and security.
• Troubleshoot, debug, and optimize solutions for speed and scalability.
• Conduct code reviews and provide technical guidance to junior developers.
• Stay current with industry trends, emerging technologies, and advancements in eCommerce development.

What We’re Looking For:

• Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related fields.
• Strong proficiency in JavaScript and Typescript, including frameworks like React and Next.js.
• Knowledge of HTML, CSS, responsive design, and modern web standards.
• Experience with consumption, implementation and security of APIs such as REST and GraphQL
• Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., Azure, AWS, Netlify), containerization (Docker, Podman), and configuration management such as Terraform.
• Knowledge of cross-cutting concerns such as SEO, accessibility, observability, security, and performance.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills.
• Good communication skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work collaboratively with technical and business stakeholders.

Extra Skills That Set You Apart:

• Proven experience as a commercetools developer.
• Understanding of microservices, event-driven architectures, asynchronous integration, and webhooks
• Understanding e-commerce flows including catalogue, pricing, promotions, cart, checkout, payment, and order management.
• Experience designing secure, scalable, resilient, and fault-tolerant applications.
• Agile development experience.
• Experience working in international, cross-functional teams with Agile methodologies.
• Strong collaboration skills with a focus on documentation, governance, and knowledge sharing.
