SENIOR MOBILE PLATFORM ENGINEER (ANDROID)

We are looking for a Senior Mobile Platform engineer (Android) to be part of our Nestlé Nespresso Digital and Tech Team. At Nespresso, our Digital & Tech teams are at the heart of our innovation journey, a space where we continue to invest, evolve, and grow.

The Role:

By joining Nestlé Nespresso Digital and Tech Team, you will be working on the mobile technology powering the Nespresso business. You will work in a direct-to-customer context with significant volumes and traffic and a very rich feature offering, being part of a large development organization with direct impact on the online business.

As a Senior Android Platform Engineer, you will be part of the team responsible for designing, building, and evolving the foundational framework that powers Nespresso’s mobile applications. This role sits at the core of our mobile ecosystem, supporting both eCommerce and IoT contexts across the Android platform.

You will contribute to shared modules, promote architecture best practices, and ensure consistency, security and scalability across apps built by multiple agile squads. You’ll work closely with technical leads, architects, and product teams to craft a performant, modular, and secure SDK that accelerates the delivery of high-quality Android experiences for millions of Nespresso customers.

In This Role, You Will:

• Own the design, evolution, and stability of shared Android frameworks and SDKs
• Define and enforce API contracts, architectural standards, and best practices
• Develop and maintain shared modules using Kotlin and Jetpack Compose
• Design scalable modular architectures, including dependency management and API surface design
• Drive adoption of shared frameworks across multiple teams without direct authority
• Own versioning strategy, backward compatibility, and release governance
• Support multiple squads by providing reusable components, tooling, and guidelines
• Improve developer experience through documentation, automation, and tooling
• Ensure high quality and performance via testing, code reviews, and CI/CD practices

What We’re Looking For:

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, system analysis or a related study, or equivalent experience and effective communication in English. 

• 5+ years of Android development experience with Kotlin and modern Android stack
• Proven experience designing, building, and maintaining SDKs or shared libraries used by multiple teams in production
• Strong experience with modular architecture at scale, including dependency management and API design
• Deep understanding of scalable Android systems and architectural trade-offs
• Experience supporting multiple teams and driving technical alignment
• Experience with versioning strategies, backward compatibility, and release governance
• Ability to clearly articulate architectural decisions and trade-offs
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines (Gradle, Jenkins, etc.)

• Experience working in international, cross-functional teams with Agile methodologies.
• Comfortable working in Agile squads with CI/CD processes and shared Git repositories.
• Passion for creating frameworks, improving developer experience, and enforcing consistency across apps.
