Position Summary: 

 

The Quality Manager is a strategic leader in our fast-paced vitamin manufacturing facility, responsible for ensuring the consistent delivery of safe, high-quality products. This role drives quality excellence across the site by leading quality systems, manufacturing compliance, and continuous improvement initiatives in alignment with Nestlé Health Science standards, SOPs, cGMPs, and regulatory requirements.

The ideal candidate is a strong people leader who inspires, develops, and empowers high-performing teams while fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and quality ownership. By building strong cross-functional partnerships and leading through influence, this individual will drive operational excellence, strengthen compliance, and ensure consumer trust in every product we produce.

 

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

  • Lead, coach, and develop the Quality team through ongoing feedback, mentoring, performance management, and talent development.
  • Foster a culture of quality, compliance, accountability, and continuous improvement across the site.
  • Ensure compliance with FDA regulations, 21 CFR Part 111, cGMPs, HACCP requirements, company SOPs, and industry standards.
  • Oversee training programs to ensure all associates maintain compliance with quality and regulatory requirements.
  • Serve as the site quality leader during regulatory, customer, and third-party audits and inspections, including FDA and USP.
  • Anticipate, assess, and manage current and emerging compliance risks to maintain inspection readiness.
  • Lead investigations, Root Cause Analysis, and Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA) to drive sustainable improvements.
  • Manage Quality Management System (QMS) processes, including deviations, non-conformances, change controls, CAPAs, and product change management.
  • Ensure accurate, timely completion and maintenance of batch records, quality documentation, and cGMP records.
  • Analyze quality and process data using statistical tools and SPC methodologies to identify trends and drive continuous improvement.
  • Partner cross-functionally with Operations, Technical Services, Supply Chain, and other stakeholders to support business objectives, process enhancements, and site initiatives.
  • Facilitate Material Review Board (MRB) activities and disposition decisions for non-conforming materials.
  • Monitor and communicate quality performance metrics, KPIs, and trends to site leadership, driving action plans when targets are not met.
  • Lead site mock recall, traceability, and product retrieval activities, serving as the subject matter expert for recall readiness.
  • Support hiring, onboarding, performance reviews, and succession planning to build a high-performing organization.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Experience and Education Requirements:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred; equivalent experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • Experience in Pharmaceutical Sciences, Food Science, Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, or a related scientific discipline.
  • 5+ years of experience in the food, dietary supplement, medical device, or pharmaceutical industry.
  • Demonstrated experience managing Quality Management Systems (QMS).
  • Demonstrated experience leading and developing teams.
  • Strong knowledge of FDA regulations and current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMPs) for dietary supplements and food products.
  • Experience with Food Safety Programs, HACCP, and GFSI standards.
  • Working knowledge of regulatory and quality compliance requirements, including 21 CFR Part 111, HACCP, and HARPC.
  • Experience with quality systems and programs, including CAPA, Change Control, Product Defense, and Pest Control.
  • Knowledge of auditing techniques and quality tools, including root cause analysis, investigations, corrective and preventive actions (CAPA), basic statistical analysis, and problem-solving methodologies.
  • Experience with SQF, FSSC 22000, BRC, and/or ISO standards preferred.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • SAP experience is preferred.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and relationship-building skills with strong attention to detail.
  • Proven ability to lead, coach, train, and motivate teams in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Strong planning, organizational, and project management skills.

 

The approximate pay range for this position is $125,000 to $140,000. Please note that the pay range provided is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting. Final compensation may vary based on factors including but not limited to knowledge, skills and abilities as well as geographic location.
