Position Summary

Over the last 5 years, the 800 employees of our Nestlé Research organization have published around 1000 scientific publications in peer reviewed journals and filed about 80 patents every year. Our team is currently looking for a Specialist in Nutrition Epidemiology with robust skills and experience in nutrition and health. In this role you will propose, define and lead project activities in the area of dietary intake and associated health conditions, in collaboration with internal and external partners, translate business needs into research approaches and transfer scientific findings into business applications. 

A day in the life of...

You will drive and establish nutrition knowledge leadership by:
-    Developing and executing dietary intake and related lifestyle research in nutrition studies.
-    Proposing, executing and leading data analyses to address key business issues and questions related to dietary intake research and assessment and monitoring of nutritional status in relation/association to health conditions and/or outcomes.
-    Designing and executing studies to better understand dietary intake patterns, nutritional needs and related lifestyle factors that influence health. 
-    Building and managing relationships with a network of private and public partners (scientists and clinical investigators). 
-    Presenting findings at relevant regional/global scientific conferences and events.
-    Leading and contributing to scientific publications.

You will contribute to product Innovation & Renovation (I&R) by: 
-    Identifying nutritional gaps to optimize nutritional quality of products and support claims development. 
-    Applying findings to inform and engage Key Opinion Leaders. 
-    Driving initiatives aiming to increase nutritional dimensions within product categories 
-    Translating and transferring scientific knowledge and learnings to Nestlé marketing teams, R&D centers, and business units. 
-    Actively collaborating with relevant stakeholders and cross-fertilize best practices with internal expert communities to share knowledge, tools and services.
-    Guiding junior project team members. 
 
 

What will make you successful

•    Ph.D. in Nutrition Science, Nutrition Epidemiology or Public Health. 
•    Publication history in peer-reviewed journals.
•    Experience in:
o    conducting dietary intake research, including study design, methods and analysis;
o    using statistical and nutrition software; 
o    scientific communication, including presentations at scientific meetings; 
o    the food industry and/or a public health nutrition organization a plus 
o    health economics a plus.
•    Fluent in Chinese and English, both spoken and written. Additional languages a plus.
