Position Summary:
The 3PL Inventory Manager plays a pivotal role in driving operational excellence and strategic inventory management within our third-party logistics framework. This position is responsible for aligning inventory strategies with business objectives to optimize supply chain efficiency, enhance customer satisfaction, and reduce operational costs.The 3PL Inventory Manager is responsible for overseeing the inventory management processes within a third-party logistics environment. This role involves managing stock levels between all systems between Nespresso and the 3PL, ensuring accurate inventory records, and collaborating with various stakeholders to optimize inventory flow and minimize costs.. This position is responsible for maintaining and improving day-to-day operations tied to Inventory with the Third Party warehouses and Nespresso.This position is an an active participant in 3PL NCE, monitoring KPIs, compliance, auditing, and internal customer service.
Key Responsibilities:
Process Improvement
- Apply project management techniques to facilitate work process improvements across logistic operations (Quality, Safety & Environmental, Logistics, etc.)
- Leads Inventory topics in DOR and WOR with 3PL. Owns multiple KPIs and responsible to populate metrics, and improve KPIs with NCE methodology (DMAIC, LEAN, GSTD). KPIs are primarily inventory, DC performance, and cost related.
NCE - Ops Reviews, OMP, Process Improvement
- Leads NCE at the 3PL national level, ensuring Daily, Weekly, and Monthly Operational Reviews are executed;
- Facilitates NCE within the MDC, implementing Operational Reviews, KPIs, and Improvement projects • Develops and maintains annual 3PL Operations Master Plan (OMP)
- Ensures the high priority issues are reviewed, actions are implemented, and resolutions are sustained
- Ensures all monthly logistics KPIs are posted to HQ global KPI site
Stock Management
- Leads team responsible for day-to-day stock management of stock valued over $150 million.thtoughout the entire Nespresso USA warehouse network.
- Manages complex inventory processes tied to four different stock images across six different stock locations tied to each specific warehouse. Also would lead the stock reconciliation of after sales locations and all virtual, in-transit, and contention stock locations.
- Forecasts and follows Bad Goods trends and actuals. Manages strategy to reduce bad goods and works collaboratively to ensure all stakeholders are aware of the bad goods impacts on the business.
- Tracks FEFO compliance metrics with the 3PL.
- Reviews and understand 3PL and Nespresso contract to ensure all metrics are being met and holds the 3PL accountable as per the contract.
- Key point person for TQM for quality issues related to inventory, including blocking stock
- Non-conforming receiving goods process owner, including issue resolution with 3PL/HQ
- Daily Reconciliation of all 3PL and ACS Stock Locations
- Monthly Reconciliation of Virtual Stock Locations
- Leads Quarterly Stock Counts and Reconciliation
- Monthly Reconciliation of RMA Report for Nessoft Credit Notes (Trade and Club Returns)
- Monthly Reverse Logistics and Returns Reconciliation
- Leads bad goods improvement, reporting, and 3PL contract SLAs/KPIs for damages and lost stock
- Leads daily low stock and end-of-life management for all limited edition and EOL SKUs
- Leads Quarterly Slow Moving Inventory Analysis and disposes unusable goods and reduces storage costs
- Oversees Salvage stock inventory, and supports marketing with sales promotion to sell goods internally
- Leads stock adjustment processes (i.e. reconciliation, reporting, ad-hoc requests, etc)
- Logistics lead for SKU conversions
- Leads After Sales Center logistics related activities and projects
Other Responsibilities
- Supports daily inventory related requests from 3PL, CRC, B2B, BTQ, Trade,TQM, Special Events, Finance, Marketing, Business Excellence, Demand Supply Planning, and After Sales Center
- Traceability and FEFP SPOC for TQM and 3PL
- Review, update, implement, and sustain SOPs and Procedures for Operations and Stock Management
- Participates in warehouse visits and tours for visitors (i.e. planning, lead when manager is unavailable, etc)
- Leads special projects related to inventory.
- Ensures after hours coverage as needed for order flow issues and during peak periods and month-end
- Owner of leading Nespresso in all Internal and External audits reviewing inventory processes and ensures the Nespresso team are audit-ready at all times. Works closely with all teams including internal controls and finance to ensure all processes follow Nestle standards.
- Primary backfill for direct reports and manager as needed
Experience & Education Requirements:
- High School Diploma or GED Required.
- BA/BS Degree required (Industrial Engineering, Finance, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration or equivalent preferred) OR equivalent work experience.
- 3-5+ years of supply chain, manufacturing/distribution/warehouse operations, inventory control, or physical logistics experience, preferred
- Experience leading a team preferred
- Professional Experience in Logistics/EDI/Stock Reconciliation and dealing with 3rd Party Warehousing required
- Evidence of successful process improvement leadership in operations and/or supply chain preferred
- Strong working knowledge of Electronic Data Interchange and Warehouse Management Systems preferred
- NCE/DMAIC/GSTD experience preferred.
- Preferably previous experiences in consumer goods industry and/or B2C, retail logistics
- Up to 15% travel.
- Flexibility and adaptability to the demands and requirements of a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities.
- Ability to work on and lead multiple projects and assignments simultaneously.
- Change management and leadership skills with client’s at all organizational levels. • Strong communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to identify and resolve operations and logistics business issues at the floor level.
- High proficiency in using Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
The approximate pay range for this position is $110,000.00 to $120,000.00. Please note that the pay range provided is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting. Final compensation may vary based on factors including but not limited to knowledge, skills and abilities as well as geographic location.
