Type of contract: Permanent contract
Start date: Spring 2025 - PhD or MSc with relevant experience in Food Science & Technology, Colloidal Science, or related fields.
- Base salary to be defined according to profile + bonus + profit-sharing; attractive employee savings scheme.
Position Summary:

Then you are the profile we are looking for in our applied science team. You will deliver competitive innovation through knowledge building projects which meet consumer/business needs.
A Day in the Life of a Food Colloidal scientist:
- Lead R&D projects leveraging knowledge on science of multiphase/multicomponent dispersed food systems: build, apply, and maintain knowledge / expertise for fermented and chilled dessert products.
- Monitor and leverage scientific developments in aerated emulsions to design innovative concepts, technologies, and processes.
- Design, execute and report experimental plans to develop science-based understanding of food materials interactions, as well as of process impact on nutrition, flavor, and texture.
- Transfer knowledge into applications through rapid prototyping at different scales (laboratory to pilot scale to factory).
- Protect through patents relevant innovations.
- Participate in a long-term strategy and propose research opportunities in own expertise field.
- Identify and engage appropriate external partners. Supervise students and propose student projects when relevant.
What will make you successful:
- PhD or MSc with relevant experience in Food Science & Technology, Colloidal Science, or related fields (minimum 8 years).
- Hands on experience with state-of-the art equipment and techniques for manufacturing of aerated emulsions (e.g., mousse) including structure characterization.
- Experience with pilot plant process and equipment design and process scale up are a plus.
- Scientific knowledge and experience with multiphase/multicomponent dispersed food systems with application to product and technology developments.
- Prior exposure to product development and manufacturing activities, especially chilled dessert products.
Other Requirements
- Excellent interpersonal/teamwork skills and a good sense of the business-technical interface.
- Initiative, ability to anticipate consumer needs and propose new ideas, entrepreneurial mindset.
- Strong written and oral communication skills (including presentations).
- Spoken language : fluent in English, French is a plus.
