Your daily missions

 

Lead R&D projects leveraging dairy and/or non-dairy protein functionality in multi-phase food systems: apply, build and maintain knowledge / expertise for fermented and neutral products

Monitor and leverage scientific developments in the area of dairy, non-dairy and novel food proteins to design innovative concepts, technologies and processes

  • Design, execute and report experimental plans to develop science-based understanding of ingredients interactions, as well as of process impact on texture, flavor and nutrition of food.
  • Transfer knowledge into applications through rapid prototyping at different scale (laboratory to pilot scale)
  • Protect through patents relevant innovations
  • Participate to a long-term strategy and propose research opportunities in own expertise field
  • Identify and engage appropriate external partners. Supervise students and propose student projects when relevant. 

What will make you successful

 

•    PhD in Food Material Science, Food Science & Technology, Biotechnology, or related fields 
•    Scientific knowledge and experience in food biopolymer functionality (especially dairy and non-dairy proteins, polysaccharides) & colloid science with application to Product and Technology developments.
•    Knowledge of biotransformation/enzyme technology, is a plus
•    Prior exposure to product development and manufacturing activities, especially fermented and chilled dessert products, is a plus.
•    Knowledge and demonstrated applications of state-of-the art equipment and techniques for food structure characterization and/or analysis of food constituents.


Other Requirements
•    Excellent interpersonal/teamwork skills and a good sense of the business-technical interface
•    Initiative, ability to anticipate consumer needs and propose new ideas, entrepreneurial mindset
•    Strong written and oral communication skills (including presentations) 
•    Fluent in English is mandatory
•    Basic French is a plus
