Opportunity currently exists for a Maintenance Engineer to join the Engineering team in our Blayney Factory. This role will participate in the development of policy, strategy, objectives and plans in support of the factory objectives. The Maintenance Engineer is accountable for the safe, effective execution of maintenance activities, the technical leadership of trades, and the day‑to‑day health of factory assets, while supporting maintenance strategies defined at site level.

 

A day in the life…

 

Reporting to the Engineering Manager and focusing on maintenance of existing assets, key responsibilities include but are not limited to: 

 

  • Actively participate in maintenance routines to ensure that maintenance activities are scheduled and executed in time with high quality.
  • Support and participate in the implementation maintenance methodologies (Preventative Maintenance pillar, foundations).
  • Be responsible to ensure effective utilization of AMM system.
  • Provide input for annual maintenance budget. Assist with the reporting and tracking of the maintenance budget.
  • Support and participate in the competence building plan (CBP) for the maintenance team.
  • Supervision of trades, performance management of trades, SH&E investigations in areas of responsibility, time and priority/leave cover management, change management, conflict resolution.
  • Build up maintenance methodologies competencies within Engineering team.
  • Assist with the technical training program for all factory maintenance staff.
  • Support  the implementation Autonomous Maintenance pillar methodologies.
  • Support production to eliminate quality defects, safety risks and chronic technical issues.
  • Support and participate in implementation of applicable standards and ensure adherence.

 

What will make you successful

 

  • Joining a collaborative team of specialists, you will be a strong professional with a drive to deliver quality outcomes.
  • Mechanical Engineering Degree or equivalent.
  • Experience in engineering management (maintenance, industrial, services, E&A), preferably  in FMCG related manufacturing environment (min 3 years).
  • Experience working in multifunctional team (i.e. capital projects, DMAIC) preferred.
  • Experience in Personnel Supervision of technical teams, contractors or other 3rd parties.
  • Self-management following defined KPIs/Objectives, and proactively tracking them.
  • Exposure to TPM, Preventive Maintenance planning and/or maintenance execution.
  • Proven track record in delivering results by working with cross-functional teams.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills and a proven capacity to influence and negotiate to drive high standards of performance and quality.
