A day in the life of...

 

Reporting to the Head of Packaging, you will be responsible for:

 

 

  • Leading strategic and complex innovation / renovation projects across multiple sites by working closely with (but not limited to) Marketing, Product Technology Centre, Engineering, and Technical Applications Group on providing solutions to ensure efficient and timely implementation of new products, their varieties, and related processes across the Region.
  • Leading packaging development projects from concept to plant implementation such as capital projects, New Product Development, cost reduction, and packaging / process improvement.
  • Packaging sustainability will be in the core of any project or initiative on packaging.
  • Working closely with Production, Engineering, Product Technology Centre, Marketing, Supply Chain, and Factory Technical Applications Group in Australia, New Zealand, Thailand, and China.
  • Leading competency in packaging material and packaging conversion processes.

What will make you successful

 

As a Regional Packaging Specialist, you will ideally have bachelor’s degree in Packaging Technology / Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Material Engineering, Food Engineering, or related areas.

 

You will demonstrate high level of drive, initiative, and relationship skills. You will have at least five years’ experience of packaging development or related positions in Manufacturing, preferably (not limited to) in Pet Food, animal feed or food industry.

 

A deep knowledge of packaging material, packaging conversion, and sustainability and recyclability are key for success. Ability to travel internationally is required. 

 

The successful candidate will be required to excel in project management, planning, problem solving, and decision-making skills in a fast paced and dynamic environment. 


In addition, the successful applicant will need to demonstrate in their application:

 

  • Proven ability to work unsupervised in a safe and responsible manner
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to manage & lead ad hoc projects that meets Production, Quality & SHE requirements 
  • Demonstrated attention to detail
  • Effective coordination of available site resources to meet the tasks required
  • Ensure quality, safety and environment standards are effectively implemented and adhered to in the Production and Warehouse environments 
  • Experience in SAP, TPM and Dry or Wet production processes are highly regarded
  • AutoCAD and CAPE Pack knowledge are advantageous

 

Applicants must be eligible to work in Australia and have Permanent Residency.
