We are looking for a Dry Product Developer and a Wet Product Developer.

A day in the life of...

 

Reporting to the Head of Innovation and Renovation Platforms, you will be responsible for:

 

  • Leading strategic and complex innovation and renovation projects on Dry and Wet segments, working closely with Marketing, Research and development, Regulatory, Engineering and Manufacturing on solutions to ensure efficient and timely implementation of new products.
  • Leading product development projects from concept to plant implementation – technical, New Product Dvelopemnt, cost reduction and product and/or process improvement, having Sustainability into the core of product design
  • Providing technical support and advice to guide business on investments of new lines and/or processes
  • Working closely with Production, Marketing, Supply Chain and Factory Applications Teams in Australia, New Zealand, Thailand and China.
  • Leading competency in Production processes, ingredients, and formulation, including sustainability aspects into product design
     

What will make you successful

 

As a Product Developer, you will ideally have bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Food Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or related areas.

 

You will demonstrate high level drive, initiative, and relationship skills.  

 

At least six years as Pet Food developer, QA, Manufacturing, or related position in petfood or feed/food industry.

 

A deep knowledge of Extrusion (dry products, treats) or Wet processing (cans, pouches, loaf, chunk in gravy, etc.) are key for success.  

 

Ability to travel internationally is required. 


The successful candidate will be required to excel in project management, planning, problem solving and decision-making skills in a fast paced and dynamic environment. 

 

In addition, the successful applicant will need to demonstrate in their application:

 

  • Proven ability to be self-manageable in a safe and responsible manner
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to manage and lead projects that meets Production, Quality & SHE requirements 
  • Effective coordination of available site and Regional resources to meet the tasks required
  • Ensure quality, safety and environment standards are effectively implemented and adhered to in the Production environment as well as to embed sustainability targets into product design
  • Experience in SAP, TPM and Dry or Wet production processes are advantageous

 

Applicants must be eligible to work in Australia and have Permanent Residency.
