An exciting opportunity currently exists for a Transport Co-ordinator to join the Supply Chain team in our Blayney Factory. This role is responsible for planning, coordinating, and monitoring all transport activities to ensure the safe, compliant, cost-effective, and timely movement of finished goods between the Blayney factory, distribution centres and third-party logistics providers.
A day in the life…
Reporting to the Factory Supply Chain Manager and working closely with Warehouse Operations, Production Planning, Customer Service, Carriers and Logistics leadership, key responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Transport planning and execution: Coordinate daily transport schedules, manage carrier bookings and capacity, and ensure shipments are dispatched on time and in full (OTIF).
- Freight efficiency and recovery: Optimise vehicle utilisation and freight efficiency and coordinate urgent deliveries or recovery plans when production or transport disruptions occur.
- Stakeholder communication and issue resolution: Liaise with internal and external customers on shipment status and delivery issues, and resolve transport exceptions including missed deliveries, shortages, damages and delays.
- Performance and continuous improvement: Monitor transport performance across the supply chain, analyse transport data, identify improvement opportunities and support continuous improvement initiatives using NCE methodologies.
What will make you successful
- Joining a collaborative team of specialists, you will be a strong professional with a drive to deliver quality outcomes.
- Experience in transport, logistics, warehousing, supply chain or distribution operations, including working with freight carriers and transport providers.
- Strong planning, prioritisation and coordination skills, with the ability to manage competing transport and supply chain requirements.
- SAP experience, intermediate Microsoft Excel skills and an understanding of transport management systems.
- Knowledge of Chain of Responsibility (CoR) and Heavy Vehicle National Law (HVNL) requirements.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to build effective working relationships with internal teams, carriers and external stakeholders.
