POSITION SUMMARY:
As the Technical Training Specialist, you will play a pivotal role in enhancing technical competency development, leadership development, and people engagement. You will lead the implementation of world-class learning systems and best practices throughout the entire facility, encompassing Safety, Quality, Technical Functions, and Job Instruction based on Adult Learning methodologies, Continuous Improvement methodologies, and TPM (Total Performance Management)/Lean/Six Sigma methodologies. You will also collaborate with all departments; you will continuously assess training needs and identify areas for improvement to ensure that associates are equipped with the necessary knowledge and skills to excel in their roles. This includes a strong focus on Safety, Quality, Service, Zero Waste, and other company goals and initiatives. Additionally, you will provide support and leadership in developing the frontline maintenance team and overseeing trainings conducted at the factory Technical Training Center.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Coordinate and deploy market-based standardized onboarding and training for leadership, support teams, and frontline roles in collaboration with the Education & Training Manager. This includes topics such as leadership, functional competencies, Continuous Improvement/TPM, and technical competencies aligned with business priorities and annual goals.
- Drive site training efforts by conducting needs assessments, aligning with leadership to understand specific situations requiring employee or group improvement, and developing an ongoing onboarding, competence management, and implementation plan in collaboration with the Education & Training Manager.
- Develop and organize a program of practical and technical instruction, creating teaching outlines and determining timely instructional methods and maintain learning content and equipment requirements within the Technical Training Center, aligning them with market strategy and annual goals.
- Manage digital competence management platforms (Poka, Power BI, iLearn, etc.) and develop a standard work strategy for front-line leaders aligned with the market.
- Support and communicate Education & Training rollout plans for the factory, including selecting key activities, rollout priorities, scope, and glidepath for results.
- Develop and maintain a record-keeping system that provides relevant information on training content, activities, attendance, and evaluation.
- Develop and maintain a qualification checklist for all technical associates, as well as training/onboarding calendars and subjects involved and coordinate ongoing recommended learning strategies and plans for the factory, aligned with Continuous Improvement principles.
- Identify key trainings in the plant and conduct Train-the-Trainer classes, while also assisting in the delivery of materials to the frontline and support team technical workforce.
- Develop and maintain an online training calendar and library links to site plant training materials and procedures.
- Collaborate with the Education & Training Manager and other department managers in planning training needs.
- Experience in a maintenance role within a manufacturing environment is required for this role.
- Excellent technical knowledge preferred.
Other Duties and Responsibilities:
- Evaluate and recommend new training equipment and materials.
- Perform job duties with the highest regard for safety.
- Support and actively participate in Nestle programs and initiatives.
- Perform any other tasks as assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, HR Development or Training, or a nationally recognized training certification required.
- 1+ years of experience in a maintenance role within a manufacturing, industrial, military, or related environment is required.
The approximate pay range for this position is $67,000 - $94,000 annually. Please note that the pay range provided is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting. Final compensation may vary based on factors including, but not limited to, knowledge, skills, and abilities as well as geographic location.
