This position will work 3rd shift: 11pm-7:30am, Sunday - Thursday. 

 

Under the direction of the Manager/Supervisor, the Lead Maintenance Technician is responsible for assisting the supervisor on a daily basis, and aiding in the transformation from a reactive maintenance model to Total Preventive Maintenance (TPM).  Also, responsible for adhering to the Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMPs) that are in effect assuring the quality and quantity of product produced.

 

Responsibilities

  • Manages the department in the absence of the supervisor and/or manager
  • Able to troubleshoot, assess and repair most manufacturing/facilities issues in a timely manner without supervision
  • Ability to interpret blueprints and schematics
  • Ability to operate machinery such as lathes, mills, drill presses and all power and hand tools
  • Ability to instruct lower grade mechanics
  • Basic to advance knowledge of electrical circuits and PLC’s
  • Assists in training other Associates
  • Complies with company policies and procedures and maintains regular work attendance
  • Personal responsibility for following safety rules, SOPs and cGMPs guidelines
  • Performs other duties as assigned

 

Requirements

  • 5+ years' experience with HVAC, electrical work, boilers, and compressors
  • Understanding of preventive maintenance and TPM (total preventive maintenance)
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required
  • Must have experience working in and around mechanical equipment, preferably in a manufacturing or packaging environment
  • High level of organizational skills, good written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
  • Must be able to multi-task and follow-up when responses are needed
